Personally, I don't like them. The grip on these is just terrible. Full throttle for the 1st three gears, srrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd. I should have went with my first thought and bought Nittos as I have in the past. So, yeah, I won't buy Hankooks again, ever.

EDIT: I guess I should add more than just the negative feedback. In all fairness, they do ride better than the Potenzas, and they're quieter as well. I have 235/30/20 front and 255/30/20 rear. I just hate that they break loose waaaay too easily. I used to have a Jaguar X-Type Sport 5MT with Nitto NeoGens that I swore by, and then I put a set of Khumo Ecsta All Seasons which were great overall, but would break loose very easily. I feel the same way now coming from the stock Potenzas to the Hankooks.

Hankooks I only like for stretch but 275/285 i rated use Nitto invos or Yokohama S drives ...

I noticed that there are few options (245/30/20 & 275/30/20 to bigger 245/40/19 275/35/19). When would you recommend a bigger tire and when would you recommend a smaller tire?

I've considered getting these tires in the same size, but now, I'm not sure. I was hoping that with the increased width the tires would stick out past the wheels more than the standard tires and, therefore, give added protection against wheel curbing.

Judging by the photos, this doesn't seem to be the case.

Couple of questions....I understand that a lot of people are putting on larger size Hankooks on the stock 19" rims (245/275). I'm not very car smart....I didn't know you could do that. How can you put a 275mm tire on a rim that had a 245mm tire on it ??? I'm looking at replacing my stock potenzas with the Hankooks, just not sure what to do about the size. TireRack suggests the same size replacement, which is what I was about to order until I read this post. Why did you order the larger ones in the first place ??...just larger size looks better ?? Any further insight would be appreciated !! Thanks !!

^^^^ Welcome newbee, do a search, lots have gone up in size and have posted pics. If your not car intelligent you probably won't see a difference. However ,if you want or care to have your car look better, go up in size and run some 15mm spacers to give your G a better stance... good luck....

2. Why did you go with the sizes you did? Why not stick with the stock sizes?

Put a set of 245/275 Hankooks on my '08 Just before I traded it in, for the short time i had them, Ride was smoother, noise was about the same. Dry traction was very poor comparatively. REO50's are much more hooked up. I got 39,000 miles out of my REO50's that included 2 Autocrosses and some very aggressive driving. My old tires had more traction than the New Hankooks. I did lots of tweeking with tire pressures and that probably made alot of difference. Didn't get a chance to mess with the pressures on the Hankooks. I was more concerned with handling than ride comfort, I ran 42psi. on the fronts and 38psi. on the rears. Made the car very neutral, it totally eliminated understeer (the understeer tears up the front tires under hard cornering), oversteer was very Predictable and easy to reel in or out.

6000 Mile Update:Hankooks 245/275 Tread wear at this point is minimal. Everything still rock soild and looks pretty even. I did rotating them side-to-side,but still don't making any sense to me unless you dismount the tires and swap sides and direction/remount.

Noise level, still pretty quiet.

The only down size with these is the lack of Full throttle support going from the 1st three gears faster when accelerating sometime and they tends to break loose easily even on dry road without warning. the only thing get on my nerves going fast cornering. they are definetely not as grippy as OEM. and I prefered Stiffer Sidewall.

Ride Quality...i can't really complaint, not bad at all and quite better compared to OEM. for the money, they are Great bang for the buck.

Would I buy them again?.....Probably Not.

Check your pressures. If you have an XL-rated tire, the pressure should be lower than you had with the OEM set-up. The V12's are very pressure sensitive, you know if it's too much if it doesn't grip as well. I have a 255 setup and have confirmed with Hankook engineers that for this XL-rated tire, plugging in my G's weight, i should be running 31psi -- a world of difference from when i bump up to 35 for long distance driving.

123u's observation is on point. My question to you soundmike is what psi should I run for my vert? It's 4100lbs and the manufacturer psi is stated to be 39 psi all around., should I go 35psi perhaps? Thanks.

I honestly don't know, originally i thought i should be running the same spec as OEM but was told otherwise by Hankook.

But long story short, for XL-rated tires with the same overall dimension as OEM, they recommended 2-4 psi lower, or 31psi for my sedan with some added weight to it.

Of course, higher psi can be run but traction really does suffer. This is my second set of V12's and with the 19s i originally had i could tell immediately the differences in traction. Once i brought it up to 38psi and i was sliding and chirping tires like it was going out of style. Brought it down to 34-35 and everything was much better.

On my current 18s, it came from TireRack with 40psi, which i brought down to 36. It was okay, chirped a little, but after speaking to Hankook and taking it further down to 31, everything is great again.
