Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 (Report)
#31
Just had EVOs installed - will certainly share my experiences as they become available.
It may be helpful to point out that I bought my staggered set-up (245/275) on eBay... with proper timing, a savvy consumer can get all 4 delivered for $614.00
What I can say this early in the game is that the look of these beefier shoes on the stock 19s is awesome.

I just got EVOs from Tire Rack and had them installed. I am no expert and I don't know how bad my old tires were but these new tires (and the larger size) are great. The ride seems much smoother and accelaration is noticeably quicker and more responsive.

There are three grooves at the transition from sidewall to shoulder tread blocks on the inside and outside that follow the circumference of the tire. I dont recall reading anything about their purpose, but from what I saw when I took mine off after about 7k miles is that on one of 3 tires (my front passenger) I was experiencing a difference in inner tire wear vs the others.
Here's a large picture that shows the grooves, I'm missing the one closest to what would be the contact patch, but on the inside tread:
The others look as good as new, so I plan on visiting the shop I took everything to for alignment to see if they can work it out. I'm curious if its a difference in the alignment from me being in the car or not.

im considering these tires as replacements for the oem potenzas. would 245/45/19 in front and 275/40/19 in back still work on the OEM wheels without any issues?

About to get these also in 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 ! I heard and read nothing but good things about these especially compared to falkens FK452 piece o crap they are. And for the $$$ can't beat Hankooks! My decision was between these and Nitto Invo but are more expensive. So definetely gonna be badd ***

7000 Mile Update: Tread wear at this point is minimal. Everything still looks even and nearly new actually. I might be rotating them side-to-side after 7500 miles for even better wear (Something I always do...dismount / swap sides but same direction / remount)
Noise level...still quiet.
My biggest gripe with these is the lack of straight line acceleration when compared to the OEM Bridgestone’s. These tend to break loose much faster when accelerating from a dead stop.
Rain...I can't complain. Not bad at all here.
Dry Cornering...I think they are improving with age but I still say they are not as grippy as OEM.
Ride Quality...Still great and quite a bit better than OEM.
Would I buy them again?....Probably so.

Please continue to keep us posted. I too have Hankook Ventus but they are the V4s. I'm curious as there are not a whole lot of reviews on Hankook even on the tire forums.

I know that, I was asking if 245/45-19 and 275/40-19 would work without any issues, i.e. rubbing, etc. because I would like to have a thicker side wall for better ride comfort, or would it be bigger than the overall diameter of the stock tires?
