I've got about 450 miles on the tires now. I also put 38psi in them the other day and I've noticed a difference. Not sure if its the miles on them or the pressure but I assume its a combo of both.
The ride is definitely firmer with 38psi. They feel firmer than the RE050A's now.
As far as cornering, they do feel a little more stable, though still not as "direct" as the RE050A's.
Bottom line...probably going to go back to 35psi to see if its the added mileage that is making the tire corner a little better.
Lastly, I can now advise that my gas mileage with the larger tires has actually improved. This tank averaged 27.1 MPG which is a little better than the average with the RE050A's (My last average was 25.9 MPG). My driving style and route to work was unchanged. I attribute the MPG improvement to a combination of a lighter tire weight and larger diameter than the nearly worn out RE050A's had.
Note: I realize that if you compare a new Hankook V12 in 275/35-19 to a new Bridgestone RE050A in 245/40-19 that the RE050A will have the larger overall diameter, but not by very much.)

Just bought these, can't wait to get them on the car! I can't believe how quickly they came too, I ordered the tires yesterday evening from tirerack and they were delivered this afternoon with just ground shipping!

2500 MILE UPDATE: While I did get better gas mileage the week after putting on the new tires, it's all back to normal now. The tires have broken in well and now behave better than when new, especially in the rain. Noise levels remain low and tread wear is minimal. Overall I think they do not grip quite as well as the stock RE050A's in the dry, but are similar in the rain. They are far quieter though and still seem to ride much better. I have also returned to running 35psi as 38 psi seemed to only add a little harshness with no benefits once the tire was broken in.

Well I am having a pair of these installed as I type this on the rear in 275/35/20. Not really by choice, but it's pretty much all that was available locally that is in stock to fit my wheels. I have a flat and need tires immediately fir a trip to Austin. I'll be taking a road trip on them immediately so by Thursday I'll have an opinion based on 600 highway miles on them.

Basically, the OP states that grip is not quite as good as the RE050A's and wet traction is about the same.
The Vred's in my opinion have more traction in dry and waaaay more in wet than the RE050A's.
It was just an internal reckoning that I reached.

Anyway I just installed these tires 275/35 245/40 and the ride and feel of these is amazing. So much better than the stock potenzas. They definitely live up to the review on CnD.

OK, I just got back from a 500 mile trip on them. Not impressive, not horrible. I'd rank them lowest of the tires I've tried on the G in my initial impression of them. They are quieter than OEM and ride better. But as was noted earlier, the sidewalls are a bit soft for a performance tire. The price was good. From a purely performance standpoint, I personally prefer the OEM, Sumitomo HTZ III, and then the Yoko S Drives over these. As I said though, this is an initial impression from 500 miles just on a rear pair.

I have 1,500 miles on my set, front and rear. (Sorry, Betty, but I do not believe you can compare tires when putting them only on one axle.)
My take; they're a huge improvement over the stock RE050A's. I think they transform the car. It is much more stable through a turn. You take your line, and the tires hold throughout the entire turn.
The Hankooks are less twitchy than the 050's. If someone likes the hyperness of the 050's, then they should stay away from the Hankooks. If you are looking to stabilize your ride and reduce the bounciness and jitteryness of the 050's, then the Hankooks should be ideal.
They have renewed my happiness with the G and made me want to drive and drive.
That's my take, for what its worth.

I have mine in 255/35/19 and 295/30/19 on my forgestars and I have zero complaints. Although thanks to the tires built in camber wear indicator (the three circumferential grooves on the corner treads) I need to take the car back to my alignment guy because my right front is wearing very differently from my others. I especially love driving them in the rain, very stable in my book.
