Wheel Protection Package

Did anyone buy a Wheel Protection Package from the dealership? Covers any damage to rim (curb rash, bent, physical or cosmetic) and tire. I think it's a good package for driving in pothole country up here in the northeast.

it doesn't cover curb rash if it's the wheel & tire protection but if you bend a rim or bubble a tire it will be worth it. i recommend it to everyone who doesn't go aftermarket for wheels

I declined - not worth it in my opinion. Dealer was asking over $1K for 4yr/50K replacement of wheel and tire. Their own analysis showed replacement cost for a G37 wheel and tire was $895. When was the last time you needed to replace a wheel? Also, your comprehensive insurance will cover this type of damage (pothole, etc.).

BTW, they also included the wheel locks in this package. When I told them I did want the locks they quoted my $189 . I showed him the Infiniti USA accessory sheet with the locks @ $51 MSRP and he claimed his cost was more than that. As I mentioned earlier the parts department had the locks at $51.

My deal was $650 and it does cover wheel rash -- 5 years unlimited miles as well:

I blew my tire 20 miles after I BOUGHT the car -- all $250 (tire plus install) was covered -- no problems.

I also dropped the rim on its face while changing it during the spare tire install after the blow out -- curb rash -- this too was covered completely.

I HIGHLY recommend it .. it's already 1/2 paid for itself and I"ve owned the car for only 3 weeks.

In my TL Aspec with 18" stock rims, I had 5 blowouts, TONS OF CURB RASH... costing me $1500 over the ownership -- what a waste of time and aggravation..

Gold Option for $645.00 covers curb rash, full restore, no questions asked. Five year, no mileage limitation.

Passenger side front and read repaired and looks like new. Cost paid by insurance, $380. Only need to do that twice to break even.

No dude -- I drive in Chicago with the horrendous potholes -- it's MUCH worse than gravel -- you should come visit sometime.

I think it's worth it as well if you're keeping the stock rims. I paid $500 for the 5/yr & unlimited miles. After seeing the cost of the tires and rims, yeah I think it's worth it.

If you purchased a maintenance plan it also comes with Road Hazard Protection for the tires and this would have been covered under that.
