Here's the thing, the only review besides the ONE sitting on TireRack is from Acurazine and it wasn't too thorough. I do know that they have a wear rating of 280... which is pretty or kind of low.

Does anyone have any personal experience or have heard of these tires and if they're good or not?

Only reason I ask is because I can get a set of these (275/35 & 245/40) for $580 shipped to my door (close out) which is pretty damn cheap.

Should I stay away and stick to the S.Drives or give these a shot? I know it's ultimately my opinion in the end... I'm just curious if these tires would be a decent pick.

The S1's are the prior version. They have been out of production for a little while now. The current model is the Ventus V12 Evo. Tire Rack is not an authorized reseller of the V12. Discount Tire and Discount Tire Direct (with free shipping) is an authorized reseller of the V12.

I don't know, but I would imagine the actual build quality of the two models to be similar. However, the S1 has "old generation" tread compound and tread pattern, at a minimum.

Kind of like the difference between a 2005 G35 coupe and a 2009 G37 coupe. Why buy the old when the new is the same price, but better?
