What's the best way to check the tread on the stock 19" sport tires? I believe mine need to be replaced soon but I don't really know when/how soon and don't want to blow that kind of cash before I have to.

They sell tread wear indicators at your local auto shop. From what I hear these tires wear pretty quickly and depending on how you drive it lasts only about 15-20k miles.

A tire tread depth gauge is cheap. It can also tell you when your tread wear is uneven even if you don't notice it with your eyes by checking all the way across the tread width. Get one. Less than $10 at a tire shop.
