So if you purchased a second set of OEM 19's with TPMS sensors, those sensors shouldn't work once you put the new wheels on your car. Correct?
Hypothetically speaking, what if you took your car with the new wheels to your local dealership and told them that your TPMS seem to have gone haywire... Would they have any way of knowing that those aren't your original wheels? Wouldn't they have to reprogram the sensors under warranty?

Why be dishonest though?

Hey guys, this is my first post! I have a 2009 G37S coupe. I bought a set of nearly new 2011 19" OEM G37S rims/tires/tpms. I went to a local shop that claimed they could reprogram the TPMS sensors, but after two failed attempts, they said the TPMS sensors on the new rims are different than the ones for my 2009 G37S. I contacted three different Infiniti dealers and I got three different answers!
One said: no problem 2011 TPMS sensors can be reprogrammed on my 2009 G37. Second said: won't know until they try it, and the third said it won't work because the TPMS sensors are different models. I'm confused. Anyone experience this issue or know the answer?

So G37s built PRIOR to 3/2010 can not use TMPS sensors made for G37s built AFTER 3/2010.

EDIT:
Correction, there is a way for the dealer to reprogram the receiver to accept the latter sensor.
