For those of you who have 10.5 wheels in the rear . . .

And preferably dropped on eibach w/ camber kit and stock camber spec, because that is what I have.

Would +36 offset work?

I think a lot of people run gt30s w/ +37 offset, and say that is the limit. I also know most people are dropped w/o camber kits, so are running negative camber in the back, resulting in less likelihood to rub.

If +36 would work, what size of tires are you guys running? Would 285 be too wide and rub? I really would like to run wider tires, since I know 275 would fit on stockies already . . . kinda defeats the purpose of running wider wheels if you can't put wider tires on them.

Thanks for any input or help!

I have 10.5" +36 with 275 tires. I'm lowered on Tanabe and have never had any rubbing at all. However, I just installed the camber kit yesterday and haven't take it for alignment yet. I will probably have them align it to just a little bit more negative camber than spec. When these tires wear out, I'd like to go 285 because the 275 is pretty stretched on the 10.5" wheel.

nooo wayyyy! not a chance.. those are for the fronts. as it seems 275/30/20 is minimum for the rear. 245/35/20 for the fronts.

245's will seat on a 10.5 inch wide wheel, but it will be wayy stretched. I am running 245/285 on RE30's with Eibach springs. No rubbing at all, but I did trim the rear wheel liners and bent in the bumper bracket.

If I had to pick tire sizes again, I would consider the 275, because it stretches more, making the wheel look bigger. Nevertheless, i'm still very satisfied with what I have.

Thanks for your input guys!

BB: Can you keep me posted on the results of your alignment and the amount the camber you decided to go with? Also, do you know how much are you lowered in the rear with your tanabe coils?

Status Elite: You do not have camber kit right? Did you decide to trim the rear wheel liners b/c you were rubbing?

Also, seems like everyone has 245 in the front, but wouldn't 255 fit also? Do they even make 255 tires, lol.

Thanks again guys.

What offset is that 10.5" at? And what are people running for the front, 9" or 9.5"? And what is the offset of the front?

People will usually run around +35 offset on a 9.5" front with tire size 245/35/20. This seems like the popular size for most people here.

255 should fit on a 9.5 or even a 9 right?

I've been wondering that too, because there seems to be a lot more tire selection for the 255/285 combo.

I do know that the larger you go in the front, the more load you are putting on the entire steering system. Sometimes a wider tire in front makes the front feel "heavy" too. One more thing, the smaller the front tire is, the bigger the back looks. I'd probably go 245/285 if I could get the right offsets nailed down, but like I said, there appears to be more tire selection for the 255/285 combo.

Really? Is this due to weight of larger tires or more contact patch to the ground? I would think the weight differences between 245s and 255s are negligible.

I guess it comes down to how much "outward" can the front and rear be from the stock setup when one's dropped on eibach and have factory camber? 20mm? 25mm? 30mm?

Thanks for your help so far~

Anymore experts care to chime in?

I think it comes down more to the contact patch. Remember the car started off with 225's. If you do the math comparing the 245 vs the 255 there's not much difference. But if you start doing the math comparing the 225's to the 245's vs the 255's you can see it is another step increase.
