Tire Size for my 20s?

Hey Guys,

Wanted some advice here on tires for my G37S.

I've pre-ordered my rims from hpautoworks.com. They are the XIX X21s

Here are the sizes of rims:
  • Fronts features a 20" x 8.5" with 35 offset, 2.5" lip
  • Rears features a 20" x 10" with 45 offset, 3.5" lip

Now I'm looking to buy the Vredestein tires in:

Front = 245/30-R20
Rear = 275/30-R20

Will the "section width" of these tires fit good on these rims?
Will I have rub issues turning front tires?

Not worried about Aspect Ratio since I know that 30 is the magic number for the Gs from stock 19" OEM Tires

You'll have no rubbing issues on the fronts.

But I'd suggest 35 aspect ratio on the fronts as the 30 aspect ratio will have too small a circumference compared to stock (84.7 in. stock vs 81 in. for the 30 aspect tires). It's off by 4.4%. A 245/35/20 will have a circumference of 84.0 in and only be off by .8%. You should keep it as close to possible as stock circumference as you can, but within 3% is a guideline.

Thanks Black Betty for info. on the front aspect ratio. I was hoping to stay away from the 35s - up since I dropped my car on Eibach pro kit and would hate to lose some of my drop. I should of got the H&Rs damn!

With your wheels, I would go with 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20, maybe even a 285/30/20.

245/30 is an extremely small sidewall. I would step up to 245/35 or even 255/35 (depending where you live) and 285/30 in the rear. The sidewall difference in a 245/30 and 244/30 is only about 1/8 inch overall height or 1/16 from the rim out. Once again, 285/25 is a small sidewall.

That will be perfect. It's what I have now but will be going 10mm wider both front and rear on the next tire change.

If upgrading to 20's, is it best to drop first? I wanna get 20"s, and aside from knowing my rims have to be the same size (i drive the AWD coupe), I have no clue what size tires to get. I def don't wanna get anything too thin and I also don't want any rubbing at all. Hmm...I hate being a newb at times...

I was told by a dealer that for the 20" vossen 078's I should go with 245/30R20 (nitto invos)

I have no clue, just what he told me

Your info is here! 245/35/20 Front & 275/30/20 Rear

This setup will keep the overall height diameter the same as the stock, but with 20s!

Might want to drop it to get rid of the front wheel height. Can't stand that gap!
