eibachs on 285/25/20

i just lowered the car on eibach pro's and got new wheels and tires. Now im having second thoughts that the rear tires (vredesteins 285/25/20) have to low of a profile and will have to much gap. How much lower will the car sit on tein's? or should i keep the eibachs and get 285/30. From what i've been seeing i don't think the 285/25/ will look good on eibachs!!. and no i haven't put the wheels on the car yet to see how it would look. i'm getting the wheels powder coated.

you will be fine. I got 295/25/21 on the rear with stock suspension and it looks just fine to me. don't worry about it until its on and you see it for yourself.

first of all, tire size should NOT be decided by gap. for the closest overall height to the stock rears you want to run a 285/30/20. so you have the wrong tire in the first place. fix that then decide if you need to drop the car more.

ohh snaps, my bad woady is right. for some reason i forgot that you were doing 20's. you did buy the wrong size rubber. you should get as close to the stock height.

i got the deal with the tires already on the rims. needless to say i was focused on the wheels and what i wanted to do to them i didnt notice the size of the tires. i couldnt believe i made such a stupid mistake when i've been dealing with cars all my life.

no worries. you're probably reading about an 8% error on your speedo right now and you usually want to keep it within 3%. you should even gain about 1-2 inches in diameter when you swap out to a 30 sidewall too so i think you will be happier with the gap then.

i ran 285 25 20 on a 10.5" with tein s techs no rubbing, also the same on eibach pro kit....now running coils and im lower then s techs...no rubbing...also will be raising it a lil for better driveabilitiy...

it also depends on the size, width and offset of ur rims....

another good thing about the vredesteins is they are rounded on the edges and not more squared....wider tire with less chance of rubbing....

PDV25_ What set of wheels did you get and when will have them on?
as far the wheel gap is concerned, I'd say wait til you have them mounted and then decide which way to go like others have said.

Like wo said, you need a larger diameter tire to bring you back to oem spec. Then you can worry about the gap with your eibachs....

-285/30/20 will be perfect fit
-680 mm (26.8'') 1 mm (0.1%) taller than OEM 679 mm (26.7'')
-When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.1mph (96.8km/h): 0.2% faster (like woody said 3% range)

But your current set is pretty far off...
-285/25/20
-650 mm (25.6'') 29 mm (4.3%) shorter than OEM 679 mm (26.7'')
-When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 57.4mph (92.4km/h): 4.3% slower

skyline i've done the tire calculations a dozen times and yes it's true! i wouldnt bother me thoe, if i thought it would look good. i've seen other rides with the 285/25 and it looked good, but they were lower. i cant lower mine like that being that i always my 2 daughters in the back seat. with that being said anyone interested in a set of vredesteins 285/25/20 and 245/30/20???

These wheels are really gaining in popularity. I was gonna order them and powder coat too to be a lil different. Getting a different set of wheels now. Hope you are not doing what I have in mind before I can do it
