Wheel size for track use

What is the best wheel size for track use? My G37S has 19's but I'm thinking 18's would be better for track use due to lower mass. Is this true? This would be for HPDEs, not auto-x or drags.

i'm sure 19s would be best. if you're gonna use 18s you will need higher profile tires. plus if anything our cars come with 19s as sport. just use stock wheels to track and nice shoes for some other occasion

18x9.5+35 all around. with 275/40-18 tires would be my choice.

18s but only a certain ones will fit due to our large brakes and weird offsets requirements.....

What about using wider tires for the rear, just like the originals:
Front: 225/45R19 92W
Rear: 245/40R19 94W

+1... Smaller & lighter the better, but as Max said only a few sizes in 18s will fit and clear the sport calipers.

well if you up the tire size in the rear only, you're only exaggerating the understeer the car already exhibits.

the point and reason i would run non-staggered 275/40 all around is to reduce the understeer and make it a more neutral setup
