Just curbed it!!!
So I'm trying to enter this stupid Bank of America drive through teller which is about one foot wider than my car. The way it is set up you have to enter at an angle and swing wide to miss clipping your mirror on the stupid yellow concrete bumper. Well, of course, I swung it too wide and felt/heard the most awful and terrifying crunch/grind sound of my life. Got through with the transaction and pulled over to see that I had a HUGE curb rash running about 7-8 inches along the edge of my front right rim The gash even runs up one of the spokes and is horribly noticeable (Ill post a pic later). Anyway, anyone know what I can do about this? Refinish/repair (if thats possible) or do I need a new rim? I'm sure the OEM 19" is ridiculously expensive through the dealer. I have never curbed a car in my life; figures now that I have the most expensive car I've ever owned. Oh well, maybe I'll look into those Volks....

I feel your pain, I curbed my left front about a month after I got the car. And the worst/stupidest part was that I could have avoided it by just turning on my front view camera. Really pissed at myself for not pushing the camera button, but I am holding off on fixing the wheel as I figure I will do it again as soon as it is fixed. Good luck with the fix and I hope it doesn't cost you too much.

Thankfully, it can be fixed and be as good as new... but it'll cost a few bucks. Most dealers have someone in reconditioning (typically, the user car manager) that can give you hand, otherwise try one of the service consultants.

i did something very similar to my car a few months after getting it...not quite as bad though. anyways, i was screaming at the top of my lungs for about 60secs after i did it and was mad the rest of the day. i called around the next day for prices to get it fixed, but after about a week i realized that it wasn't that big of a deal. it's not something anyone would notice but you...so give it a few days before you shell out some dough, you might realize like i did that its not worth the cash for something barely noticeable to anyone but you.

I did that sht 3 days after I got the car. I was livid, I want to get it fixed but with my luck I'll probably do it again right after it's repaired. Had another close call last night.
On a side note, today when I was applying some wheel sealant to my rims I notice these little chips, probably from rocks on the road. The point is, with rocks on the road, potholes, etc., your rims are going to wear and tear, no matter how careful you are.

^^Well mine wasn't exactly a curbing in the sense that I rubbed up against a curb. I hit a curb at like 5 mph that messed up my front and back rim. Oh ya, I forgot that I did mess up the other side, rear rim and curbed that one the second week I had it while trying to parallel park so never mind. lol

I can not EFFING believe this. Was just reading up on Clear Bra info here... since I have a small pebble mark on my lower hood, I wanted to go down and take a picture of it - maybe get some opinions on how to treat it prior to getting the clear bra installed. Pulled out to bring it over to a sunny spot on the street - and I FOCKING curbed my right front rim a bit. I have never curbed a wheel in my 20 years of driving!!!!
Meanwhile, the frigging pebble scuff is so small it doesn't even show up on the 3 pictures I took..... what a productive 10 minutes that was.
Yeah yeah, I know - $100 to fix it like new blah blah... for some reason, that knowledge isn't making me feel any better right now.
