Let's find the best performance/longest lasting / CHEAPEST?! Tire!

I've yet to find a tire that will last 20,000 miles, has the same ( or better than ) performance of the factory Potenza's, and doesn't cost $400+.

Back on my G35, I only got about 8-10,000 miles out of factory setup. I think this is about typical for these tires where I live. I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport, and those handled far better, but they were $100 or more per tire over the factory. I didn't get a chance to wear them out before I got my G37S, so I don't know how long they were going to last. Based upon their wear when I left them, I would say they would go in the neighborhood of 12-14,000 miles.

In my ideal world, I would like to find a ~$200 tire that has the characteristics I'm looking for. Either that or a nice coupon to make it happen!

Thoughts/Comments/Concerns/Stories?

I was thinking about picking up some Yokohama S.Drives when I get my Forged Sevas. They are just under 200 dollars a wheel for 20's.

Just buy Falken F452's they are cheap so its not bad when they wear out fast, you can just get a new set. And usually you can live with same fronts and new rears.

Took it out for a hard spin and so far so good

Um what tires did you G35 come with?? DO you live up North because my '04 G35 came with PS2's from the factory. I wouldn't worry so much about performance if you want a tire that's going to last 15,000+ miles, look for a tire with a 400+ treadwear.

FK452. I'll buy a set again for my new wheels--had them on my Volks on the G35. I can't stand spending a ton of cash on a high performance tire just because. I drive on the streets people, no need for $1500 worth of tires.

BTW, I had 8K miles on my 452's, and had another 8 coming easy. I think 2 years and 20K is reasonable on them.
