Well there are many reasons why YOUR tires a cupped/feathering. I think if this was as big of an issue as it was with the G35, there would be many more people having this problem. I have read several posts from people who have well over 15,000 even up to almost 30,000 miles on the stockers with no problems. The tires are uber soft dude they have a treadwear of 180, road noise is innevitable and since the dealers are charging well over $400 a tire, damn right they say "your tires need to be replaced."

The service manager suggested that I contact Infiniti Consumer Affairs and report the feathering which I did this morning. He says that as miles accumulate on the 37's that are being serviced at his dealership, the occurences of feathering and cupping are becoming increasingly more common and some of his customers have had provisions made for them by Infiniti, but there has been no awknowledgement of a problem anywhere near the extent of the older G35's. I was fortunate enough to have a 2004 G coupe that was plagued with constant feathering issues and can only hope that I dont have to go down that road again. Anyone have any suggestions as to a better replacement tire than the Potenza's before I have this done next week?

glad that the dealership you are working with is giving you a new set of tired. I am at 15k and I am hearing road noise now and starting to feel tire vibration. I'm taking mine in soon.

Now I'm wondering if the notorious 350Z/G35 Coupe front feathering issues are reappearing their ugly head again? It might not be as severe as the original cars, but is it still evident? If you do a search on the 350Z forum, you will literally find THOUSANDS (4,000 to be exact) of posts on the front feathering problems.

I have 15,5 miles on my stock Potenza's, no feathering or uneven wear. About 3/32s left, I'll be getting new tires in the next 3 weeks. Haven't seen 1 thread regarding feathering on the forums since you posted this over a year and a half ago!

I'm inclined to agree with you here. If there was an issue as severe as the G35s and 350zs there certainly would be alot more complaints after this time. I would think by now that Infiniti has gotten the message and responded with an improved design on the G37.

+1 ...16k miles on the odometer, and I recently had my car lowered. Since lowering gives it a bit of camber, I started hearing RIGHT AWAY (so no one can tell me it was due to lowering) incredibly annoying road noise coming from my front tires...reminded me of my G35. What this indicates is that the fronts had not been wearing evenly all along, and the negative camber amplified the sound that was going to surface eventually.
