Closeout of 19'' wheels on Tire Rack
FYI - While I was searching for a winter wheel/tire setup on tirerack, the site said no packages were available yet. So I just browsed for wheels that would fit on the Sport model, and the below rims are on sale for $99/each.
Problem is they only come in 19'', and the available snow tires that fit are Bridgestone Blizzaks, which are $222/each. AND you have to add the TPMS package for an additonal $378. So with everything you're looking at total price of $1662 for the winter setup. This seems ridiculous, but then again if you're buying a $40k car then you shouldn't b*tch about the price of premium fuel either, right?
A penny for your thoughts...

i've been eying that $1,600 winter/tire pkg for a month now.. but have yet to get a firm answer from anyone here. Tirerack lets you pick 18" winter tire/rims for the g37... but others have said there is only a hair space between the rim and the caliper. i just want to know what winter tire/rim pkg i can buy that'll fit a g37s w/no problems..
anyone?? bueller...............bueller..................... .bueller??

Actually, on tirerack they only let you choose the 18" for the G37 if you specify the Journey or Base models. Specifying the Sport model seems to set 19" as the minimum..

a quick check on tirerack does not let you buy wheels now for a g37 sport... only tires! WTF is going on here?
Winter wheels for this vehicle are not available but winter tires can be purchased separately by selecting your size at the right.
a few weeks back i was able to select from several wheel and tire packages (18" only) for a g37 sport. I called my dealer the other day inquiring about a winter wheel/tire packge and they do offer one for $2,400! OUCH!

I had my dealer try on my 18" wheels (off of my '06 coupe) on the G37S that i just bought last weekend. 18x8.5 245/40/18 20mm offset and 18x9.5 275/40/18 25mm offset. To our surprise, the front cleared, with about 1-2mm between the inner rim and the caliper and a lot of space between the spokes and the caliper. However, the back wheel touched (inner rim and caliper). We could not figure it out for a sec since the back rotors are smaller....then i remembered that the back wheel has a 25mm offset which means it sits 5mm closer to the car....meaning since most wheels are tapered inside, the inner dia is larger facing the car and smaller facing the street...so if i put a say 5mm spacer pushing the wheel outward, it should clear due to the larger inner dia on that part of the wheel. However, this means i will change the 25mm offset to 20mm which is about 25mm further than the stock wheels (45mm offset)...meaning my wheels will be sitting 1" further and since the tires are 275 instead of 245, total they will be sitting 2" further....and it will be outside of the fender. I really don’t think many of the 18" wheels will fit the G37S. The inner dia is simply not enough if you follow the recommended offset. And if you disregard the offset, then you have to roll out your fenders. I wish i knew this earlier cuz i got these wheels a month ago wanting to use the on my new G37 for the winters (I got the all season tires with these rims)....the only other thing i could do now is to rollout the fenders and use the spacers. I was told that body shops could do this very easily....and I will try it in a couple of weeks. I will keep you all posted. But i would say all this work is not worth it. Go with the 19” wheels if you have the sport, winter or not. It is not worth the time and money to try to work with the 18” cuz the G37S is definitely not made to take the 18” as much as I would like to believe otherwise.

one more thing...since these wheels have 20mm and 25mm offsets which are wrong, even if there they are not touching the inner rim and requiring a 5mm or 8mm spacer push them out even further, they will still be outside of the fender at 275/40/18, so i really should not have jumped the gun and got these wheels knowing that i was gona buy the G37S without all the details....lesson learned for me.
