Wheel repair / cost

Hello,

Unfortuantely I am still getting used to the car (I used to have a smaller WRX STi) - I made a small nick in the rim of the rear wheel, about 2" long, not that bad actually.

How much do replacement wheels cost for the car - does anyone know? How well do the wheel repair programs work? The dealer's service menu lists $150 for a repair - the nick is pretty small.

I did the same thing. A new rim costs around $1,000 I'm told. You definitely want to go the repair route. I used Alloy Wheels and highly recommend them. They charge $200 for just about any repair but do amazing work. Lots of people recommend Rim Doctor, they are very cheap (like $75-$100) and claim to be the same, but I don't trust them because it is so much cheaper. I know that the paint used on our wheels costs $200/quart for them to buy it from their suppliers so Rim Dr might not be using the same stuff.

Where are you located? If you are anywhere near the DC area, I could provide a referral.
