I played the waiting game. They just called me a few minutes ago. It was another finance manager, but this guy sounded pretty cool. He said that I got qualified for the recent college grad program, so I'm getting my original rate. I feel like a million bucks now hahahaah...well not really since now I know for sure they'll be taking my money.

In Canada VPP works like this:
Start with Dealer Invoice Price ($4,963 below MSRP)
Add freight ($1,695)
Subtract VPP discount ($1,200)
Substract Incentives for Canadians due to high dollar ($3,000)
Add 2.5% fee and a few other charges ($1,845)
Total around $44k plus tax
(tax in Ontario is 14% - but soon to be 13% Jan 1)
This is for a top of the line G37S in Canada. The US has different models ie Journey etc... Canada has the "Premium" or the "S". The "S" is a fully loaded G37 with 19 inch rims, sunroof and all the gadgets. In the US you would have to purchase the Premium package and spoiler and other things to get the same car as the "S". Basically to get the US G37 similar to the "S" in Canada you have to build it to about $40k incl. options but before tax. Therefore about a $4k difference but that doesn't include cutoms charges and any other border service fees.
Just thought I'd make an interesting comparison since many Canadians are flocking to US dealerships to purchase cars due to our stronger dollar.
But when you use VPP in Canada - and factor in all of the Customs charges and things the gap isn't not big at all in terms of US vs. Canadian pricing.
