Any idea when VPP will be available for G37?

I have the Infiniti VPP available as a buying option for me, but the G37 is excluded for the time being. Does anyone have any info on when VPP will be available for the G37? The discount would be large enough for me to wait, but I don’t want to be waiting close to a year.

Also, which invoice price does VPP work off of? I know the invoice price from the internet, but when using VPP is it a higher invoice including dealer holdbacks or some other sort of fee tacked on?

Thanks

VPP for G37

I talked with the District Manager for Infiniti Sales in CA, and his response was about 7-9 months you might see the G37 available for VPP.

Thanks for the info. That's kind of the time frame I figured.

Really? The manager at the dealership I've been talkin to said same time frame of about 3 months like the sedan. This isn't good for me since I extended my lease until Dec. 1 and have to get a new car by then.

It stands for Vehicle Purchase Program. It’s available to Nissan/Infiniti employees and employees of companies that deal with Nissan/Infiniti. It’s basically invoice minus a small percentage.

For my company, this is what is offered:

D PLAN

* Dealer invoice
* Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
* Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
* Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
* Plus destination and handling charge
* Minus applicable incentives
* Equals participant's purchase price

I have not actually used VPP before. When VPP becomes available, do dealers have the right to refuse to sell me the car at that price. I'm just wondering if I show up with a valid VPP claim number in a few months, can the deal tell be to get lost?

Thanks

Some dealers will try to say you must take from their stock, but according to the actual VPP documentation this is not the case. Once VPP program is available for a vehicle and you are eligible, then they must sell you at that price.

They cannot refuse to sell at VPP pricing if you have your VPP number. The dealer would get in alot of trouble for that. Some dealers will tell you that you have to buy from something in stock, but that is not true. Most dealerships have to pay someone to go get another car from another dealer, so that is what they are trying to avoid. Most fees in that case dont cost more than $80-$100.

The G37 came out this year at about the same time as the 2007 G35 the year before. If things are the same, VPP A plan should open up first by early to mid December. The other plans will follow about a month or so later. I had an A plan and only 1 dealer near me (Mission Viejo Infiniti) in Southern CA honored it when it first became available.

On the plus side ... it seems Infiniti did a better job of having initial inventory on hand this time with the G37. With the 07 G35, they were sold before they hit the showrooms. This time there were a bunch of G37 at my local dealer last weekend when I went in for a visit. Maybe they will open up to VPP earlier.

^^^ I hope to God you're right, cuz my dealer had about 10 on the lot last time I stopped by. There are only 3 delearships in my area, and most have plenty of stock. The coupes aren't very common here, and to this day ppl still ask me what kind of car I have. Most think its a Lexus.

But I figure by end of November with the winter snow approaching, they will have to work a deal for me, since it will be my 3rd car from this dealer. Not to mention the salesman calls me about once a week with updates.
