iPad as GPS for G37

Hey everyone, jailbroke my ipad so i can output GPS to my G37's screen. Just really testing it out until someone releases a jailbreak for the iPhone4. Ipad is way too bulky to lug around....

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IA2_L3q7iE8&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IA2_L3q7iE8&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I did one thing that is unmentionable on the forum to get this to work. Besides that one detail, all the other instructions related to getting video from your iphone/ipad to the screen can be found here:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/picture...in-my-car.html

Once you buy the wire from apple, all you need to do is jailbreak your ipad/iphone, pay $1.99 for the displayout program through Cydia and you're set. A very easy mod imho....

So I've done that "unmentionable" thing on mine already. I bought a generic AV cable from eBay and it will display on the screen but it will black out in a few minutes. My brother said I'd have to buy a "chipped" AV cable for this to work properly? Would that be the same as the apple AV composite cables?

Yeah, that is the problem. Get the OEM one directly from apple. I bought mine from Amazon to avoid tax....

But won't it go blank once you start driving? Buying the cable just isn't enough I would say. Unless you guys did the whatever bypass on your car lol. And I think it's perfectly fine to discuss those if you're only doing that mod for your GPS to work.

Thanks, borrowed cables from a friend and it worked like a charm.

Placing my order now.

Now I need the same iPod/iPhone mount as yours.

Just an fyi bro, the jailbreak for the iPhone 4 dropped a couple of days ago! And it's HELLA easy! And thanks for this post, I'm gonna have to try this out on my iPhone 4 now, but for some reason, I can't get the GPS/Maps apps to work...wonder if it has to deal with ios 4.
