I'm not sure either of those drivers knew what they were doing...

Even more so, I'm not sure why they waisted video on that chase. But thanks for posting that up!

I'm lost myself. Why would Infiniti use a 911 when the 335 is the car the G37 is trying to outperform? Does anyone know what the person on the speaker was saying?

The 37 looks like a boat next to the porch!

Looks like the porch could of passed the 37 on the grass if it wanted too.

the 996 carrera wasn't uber or anything ya guys. I think it should still be able to defeat a G37 on the track, however they're closer then you guys give the G credit for.

I test drove two used 996's since I've always lusted for a 911 before I settled on a newer more reliable car.. ie the g37.

The 911 feels like a go cart compared to the g but honestly its not that much quicker. The early 996's have less horsepower (298hp) while the later 996's had nearly 330 if I'm not mistaken. Where the 911 kills the g37 is weight. A 1999 996 barely weighs over 3000 pounds but the later 996's with more horsepower gained a couple hundred pounds. Not to mention a carrera 4 adds more weight as well.

Take the numbers for what they are worth but like a couple folks said .. the g37 isn't that much out of a 996's league performance wise.

Now the 996 turbo models or a GT3 version.. forget it!!!

its not about the weight or the hp numbers. The 996 is a superior chassis to the g37. That is were it matters when going around a race track. In a straight line ya the g37 would beat that 996 up until about 120ish where the 911 would leave it and continue all the way to 170+. But the chassis dynamics of the 911 are just far superior...

I don't know what specific model Porsche it was but damn, go GGGGG!!!
