Forged Performance - My Experience

No wonder GTM ditched Forged. Probably getting tired of seeing thier kits come back demolished.
PS
What kind of techs doesn Forged hire? Damn, doesnt take a genius to know not to bash the hell out of pipes with a hammer.

I have also heard alot of stories about the GTM kit not fitting correctly, but it does not mean beat the crap out of it with a hammer. Seems like Forged is blaiming everyone but themselves.

This is outrageous. Forged has employed technicians that would be seriously challenged putting together a Christmas morning bycicle and now the emphasis is on oversights of missing clips and such.

How can a novice put a GTM TT kit together in his garage without problems, but a "pro" shop can't? Anyone who says there's a fitment issue, my first question would be did you follow the instructions, did you put the right part on the right side....my next question would be...did you call Sam and ask, if you couldn't figure it out yourself. If the answer was no to both of those questions...then I'd blame the installer!
Some shops just think they know everything and don't bother reading instructions or asking questions because they think they've done it X number of times and always have the right answer. That's not always the case.

I know why GTM would replace the whole kit, they have to warrenty the work/parts and considering these parts were run on a failed instalation I'd have replaced them too. After all their not in the business of fixing failed instalations. I don't think Sherif's assertions of GTM taking the customer to the bank will be a valid argument in court.
I do understand Sharif's assertion conserning fitment issues, however those should have been addressed directly with GTM for replacements that did fit or at least guidance rather then the "custom work." While this was a failure of the "engineering specialist" that's no longer working at FP, for a big job like this the owner should have monitored this better. I'd suggest a new shop rule, no customizing without authorization as a post mortem action. I sure would like to see how GTM got that tubing to fit by the steering column that was pounded in as it was delivered to forged... doesn't look possible.
It's a bit of a perfect storm with the mistake in parts and jerry-riged install, I can see where DPJones lost confidence. It's unfortunate but this will probably be a very costly lesson for FP.

wow man... I know your pain b/c you were excited to be the first one to have a twin turbo 2009 HR sedan... I felt great when I got my car and being the first 2006 G35 sedan 6mt w/ a turbonetics kit in the country in 8 days time, and no issues makes me realize why I went to the shop I went to.
I hope all this really gets resolved in a fashionable manner for everyone.

I am surprised how calm you've remained about all this Doug. That is simply ridiculous for the amount of $$ you WASTED on all this in hopes of a clean timely install you simply got screwed and lied to. Forged needs to cough up a settlement and cover the costs of getting your G sedan TT'd the right way once and for all. I would hope that would be in their best interest to retain any integrity that is left for their business. Has Dave's experience with his coupe been dissapointing such as yours? I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in yet. I'm hoping for a quick resolution and a proper re-build of your TT set-up. I can feel your pain of having car and ins payments and not being to drive my G for 6 months or so but cant even IMAGINE being stuck without it for over a year . Things will get better buddy, keep your head up!

I think the funniest thing about all this is that Modme installed it all himself in his garage with basic tools in about 4 weeks.
Forged a 'top tuner' shop with lifts and multiple employees cannot install a basic bolt on kit in under a year without demolishing it.
And why did both cars end up with collision damamge? WTF Forged, are they playing bumper cars after work or something?
