Meet ***ATTN: Nationwide G Meet???
#16
This is why we need to see what type of crowd this will attract. If we're setting the location based on the Florida/California crowd, then we should probably make sure there will be enough people from those states who plan on attending, right?
Either that or we just pick a location and go with it... Take it or leave it!

I'm pretty confident i can put 20-40 cars just from MN/WI, and this is confirmed by each one of them.

where is mass in there! ;-P
but seriously, i think national would be pushing it. i think regional would be better. like an east coast, a west coast, a midwest, a southside meet or something like that

I have never been to Chicago and I would really like to visit. That's the only reason I say that... Plus, it's closer to me than Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas, or Missouri.

Yeah, I can see that. Regardless, I think it is going to be difficult to organize an event of this magnitude...

I would really like to do this... I would be far more interested in this then Zdays and I am even considering that still... I really dont see why we cannot get enough interest to do something like this in our club. It seems this site is heavy CA loaded and I am just going out on a limb here but I think most are not interested due to the fact that they are able to have large meets on their own out there and most others are not...
This may again be a stretch but what if we organized a weekend like someone else suggested where there are 4 locations on the same day/weekend and we have it orchestrated as a national event. This would draw the biggest crowd, attendance, and actual owners cars but it will just be spread out. and then I would hope we could all get photographers to come and some to take videos and we would all share on the stickied annual thread... I am more then sure it would even turn into a competition of what region represents the best.
I am not saying that we all have to say yes and commit right now but for any of us to start working out details we have to have a scale of interest. This will then get the people who want to help organize see if it is worth it an start getting our hands into actually doing this. WHY NOT DO THIS? we are a national club of ENTHUSIASTS... Lets be the club that represents and expresses that. I love the idea of Zdays and am jealous of it but it all started with an idea and then interest somewhere and then turned into something huge...
So here is all I would love to know...
Who is interested in a quad regional event (details to come):
1.) Chi-City-G (Mid-West)
2.)
3.)
4.)
5.)
6.)

Amen. There's Zdays which is all the way on the east coast yet they have the turnouts that they do.
I don't think planning "4 meets" on one day is even realistic, but it might be possible if we can't gain enough interest nationally, to narrow it down to possibly bi-nationally.
If Zdays can be successful on the east, lets try the east side? How about like Kentucky or Tennesee????? Or how about Indianapolis???

Here's a suggestion. Since Z Days is successful at doing this and has been for a while, how about contacting someone in charge of that event and talking to them about some planning? Putting up a thread to see if people might want to attend a theoretical event with no details or even structure will always fail. If you really want to do this, then get your ideas together, plan it, and execute it. It will take far more planning than you probably realize. Talk to folks who have pulled it off successfully first. Then post when you have something.

I'll go drive 2,000 miles there and back if...
1) this event last all week!
2) there Is FREE food , beer and dancing girls!
3) there is a water faucet and hose to wash my car after I get there.
4) there is a good chance one of the dancing girls will go home with me, that's along drive back alone!
