ITB11-064 Squeak from accelerator pedal

Here is a TSB for a squeak in the accelerator pedal. I've heard this in my 09 G37 for a couple weeks now and finally came across this TSB. Not sure if I will get it done just yet.

It can be replicated with the car off. Just very lightly touch the accelerator pedal, not enough to move forward if you were starting from a stop.
Has anyone had this issue before? Gets annoying in stop and go situations.

Yup, had the same issue on my 2010 G37x Sedan. Dealer fixed it, but not sure if they performed the TSB. It is fixed though, and been trouble free since.

Nice to know I'm not the only one noticing this, I thought I was hearing things

Did you get this fixed? I have the same noise when I slightly pressed on the accelerator pedal as well. I'm going to make an appointment next week. Yep, it is annoying.

Haven't gotten it fixed yet. My next service is in about a month so I'll bring it up then. But I want to make sure that either they've done it before or they can do it right. Sometimes you get one thing fixed and two other things go wrong.

I'll probably just do this myself. Thanks for the TSB.

Please let us know how it goes if you do decide to do it yourself. I though about doing this myself too but I'm not sure if you have to disconnect the sensor. If you do, I'm not sure I want to perform the accelerator peal relearn myself.

However, if you don't have to disconnect any sensor or wires, and just loosen the screw and remove the whole peal assembly then I can probably do it myself too.

I'm only experiencing this when I start off with pedal slightly depressed, it seems to go away in warm weather. Pretty annoying though.

I'm getting the squeak, only happens when I lightly press on the accelerator pedal (roughly a quarter of an inch depressed). I'm getting it taken care of this week by the dealership along with replacing my driver side fog light (condensation).

My car is in the dealer for this. They told me they have to replace the whole gas pedal assembly. It's weird because my service guy said they had a service bulletin out for it. Whatever they do...I hope it works. The squeak is annoying!

I had this problem and the dealer replaced my gas pedal assembly... it was fine for a day or two then the squeak came back.

I followed the tsb and fixed it myself. It's super easy and takes less than 20 min to do. I used a felt pad ~1/8in thick (tsb calls for foam) and it has been squeak free for almost a year.

Quick follow-up:

I just drove my car back from the dealer. Gas pedal is not making any noise at all. Hopefully it holds up. If not, I'll do the felt thing myself. Seems simple enough.
