Same with mine. I experienced premature battery failure (car had to be jump-started twice within less than 2 years of ownership). I took it in to the dealership and they replaced the battery free of charge. There is a TSB for this for continuous power leakage from the vent control valve. They will replace the vent control valve and battery under warranty. OP, you might want to check if your vin# falls within the range for the TSB.
Same here!

Hmmm, interesting it wasn't covered - but I guess it would depend on a bunch of flow charts within the technical service bulletin that would determine if it was indeed covered. From my understanding, it has to map exactly to the flow chart in order for them to replace it under warranty. How certain are you that you have the old VCV (vent control valve)? Not all of the model years have the old one. But apparently it was this VCV that was draining the battery and therefore it was replaced under warranty. Take a look at page 2 here to see if you have the old style or new style VCV --> http://www.infinitig37.com/TSB/1SS20.pdf
It sucks to have these little nits to have to deal with when you spend good money for an Infiniti and consumer reports rates it top notch for like 3 years in a row... I never had these issues with my 2001 Accord...and with 200,000km I was still on my original battery... but I still love my G37...

I peeked at the vent control valve, its hidden beside the exhaust. Matt at TG suggested that I replace the battery, they had seen enough cars with similar problems that most of the time it was the battery.
BTW, I been doing tests on this Walmart Everstart battery, cranks up fine even after 3 weeks. No need to spend big bucks for good quality battery.

I was told by the dealer that if the battery fails prematurely, they replace it for free as long as the car is still under warranty. If it's time to replace the battery, the labor is still covered by the warranty, and the battery is a prorated price.
