Thanks. I'm trying not to get my hopes up either. The car didn't throw any codes, so I'm going to use that as my "you should fix my car" card because had it thrown a code when it was malfunctioning, you're damn straight I would have taken it in to get it fixed under warranty. The issue was that I had to discover it myself and I don't know about you, but most people don't have easy access to dealership software to diagnose their own problems.

I actually think that will be my ticket.

Damn....that sucks....i hope they take care of you...that sensor serves so many purposes...IBA, DCA, ICC...even pre Collision...I think...its practically the entire tech package...

Good luck with getting it covered! Honestly, I'm so paranoid about reliability that I specifically sought-out an M37 that WASN'T equipped w/ the tech package just so I wouldn't have to deal with any expensive electronics issues. At least the Deluxe Touring package is mostly cosmetic/comfort upgrades... until the Forest Air system decides to die. LOL

I love the tech package...lol. I'm surprised that pretty much all of the components are covered under the CPO warranty. When I got my M I purchased the infiniti elite warranty for 8yrs/120k because I was worried about all the electronics as well. So far so good...I did get my sunshade replaced due to a wheel falling off and i'll have them check out a noisy drivers side seat cooling fan...lol

Got the car back today and the IBA OFF light is on due to the tech trying to re-align the laser (my original suggestion) and discovers that the laser isn't working. Now it's throwing codes. SMH....My SA says he can't do anything without Consumer Affairs.

Car was throwing NO codes until today. I was the one that discovered and diagnosed the problem, not the car. Had the car told me right away that something was busted, you best believe I would have gone to the dealership to get it replaced under warranty.

Did they give you the code that is triggering the light? I find it odd that after he adjusted the sensor (I didn't know you could) now you have the IBA Off light. When you turn on the DCA button on the steering wheel do you get the orange light on the cluster or the green one? Was the IBA light on when you picked it up or did it come on later?

Just wondering because I wonder if the tech turned the IBA off trying to adjust it by using the button at the bottom of the dashboard...

I saw the light when I was driving out of the service bay. I went back in after I saw the light was on and he said there was nothing they could do to turn it off because now the car sees that the sensor is malfunctioning. The light was caused by the tech trying to align the laser. It wasn't on until they had it today.

I tried turning IBA back on with the button under the dash but nothing worked.

That's odd...what did they do to make the car sense that the sensor was bad? I mean adjusting it shouldn't have done that...

It did and now, it has become apparent to me that my regular cruise control does not work either. A $60K car without cruise control....

They had to do something else. I would check fuses for Cruise control. The system is designed to allow you to still use regular cruise control when the ICC is malfunctioning. If you hold the main switch on for 2 seconds it should go into conventional cruise control and you should be able to set it. Make sure DCA is off because you can't change the mode if it's on. You should get just the plain cruise in the LCD screen and when you set it it should stay. Try turning DCA off through the setting screen on the navi control. It just seems like you should have more malfunction lights on your console...

I know what you're saying...believe me I've tried. The CRUISE light comes on when I hit the cruise on/of switch. I try holding the switch and at beeps at me and the CRUISE light comes on. All other functions are on default while doing this. I've tried turning the sonar off (button near the heated steering wheel) and tried the traditional cruise and still no go.

Also, just received a call from Consumer Affairs. They are going to call my dealership and try to find out more information. Hopefully the dealership is forthcoming and vying for me to get this fixed on Infiniti's dime. They are going to get back to me early next week. I'm obviously hoping for some good news.

On a side note, I know suddenly have Weather Updates??? No traffic updates though. Random...

Have you tried to turn it off from the settings menu in the navi screen? Try that too. I hope that they really do step up for you...this is the first time I've heard of any problem with the sensor or system...outside of software updates.

On the Navi weather thing....i subscribed to both traffic and weather...but I think that during holiday travel or when areas are affected by bad weather they give free weather. I remember last winter when everything was freezing in the south my friend who has a QX56 told me that he was getting both for about 2 months...its a nice feature to have...when you are traveling...

Well, I looked at the FSM to clear out the codes. There was a code for an incomplete laser alignment and a code for a CAN communication error (presumably from the distance sensor to the ECU). Let's see what happens on my way home from work.

Cool about the Navi weather. I noticed it today. Didn't know if the tech did something or if my electrical is screwy. Let's hope it's as you say.

So I can get traditional cruise by doing the normal bypass, but if I turn on the ICC at anytime, it locks me out of any cruise control. Clearing the codes did nothing for me.
