Anybody owns a 2003-2004 M45 (Y34)?
Anybody owns a 2003-2004 M45 (Y34)? I am looking for owner feedback on it.
I really like how the car looks and think it can be a decent DD.
I test drove one the other day and walked away unimpressed about that particular car.
- The brake wasn't that great in terms of pedal travel and feel
- The gas pedal has slight play and very jumpy getting moving from stop
- In D (auto), the car moves like a V6 around town. Its not slow per say, but doesn't feel particularly eger to go
- In manual mode, the shift is slow and the click is loud (I guess as expected cause its no DCT)
Otherwise, I am ok with the around town test drive, and it was comfortable without being "soft". It drives smaller than it seems.
I read that the 4.5L V8 might have potential to burn oil. And the avg mpg won't be that good.
Anything feedback? Anything that I should be aware of?
I am planning on looking at a few more of them before I decided if I should keep on looking ...

I've built and daily driven my car for the last 3 years. No problems one bit but I do do all of the preventative work on it and give the car an oil change very 2000 miles like I do with all of my cars.
I do agree, stock brake pedal feel is a bit sluggish for such a heavy car but I already have a BBK in mind to keep it as safe and enjoyable as possible.
MY car is also currently on the market if you;re interested, please email me at meannnn (@) yahoo.com for more details.
good luck!
