2011 Infiniti M

Ugh, doesn't Infiniti know that you're supposed to spent 6 - 8 months releasing teaser shots and silhouettes that are too dark to really see anything?

This shot apparently came from an e-mail newsletter referring to the new M. That doesn't necessarily mean it is a shot of the new M. I just assumed. You know what happens when one assumes. lol

Considering that Infiniti is now in Europe and this is a 5-Series/E-Class/A6 competitor, I'm going to assume there will be the base 3.7 V6, a diesel (I assume the new 3.0L V6 dCi that was developed by Nissan and Renault), and a V8 of some sort.
They could do a smaller displacement V8 with turbos like the new BMW 4.4L V8 or they could go with a turboed V6.
If they're not going to do a "traditional" V8 then I think the smaller V8 with turbos makes the most sense. It's give them the "V8 presitge", makes a the car a bit "greener" (smaller engine), yet still keeps it very sporty.
Infiniti is trying to align itself as a BMW competitor as opposed to a Mercedes competitor. Right now Infinitis are usually crossed shopped with Audis from what I understand.
Then again I could be completely wrong since this is all based on assumptions and gut feelings. vv (<--- me shrugging my shoulders)

If there is no 5.0 V8, the only possibility is using VK45 with adding VVEL and turbo in order to make 400 hp to compete with upcoming 5 Series. ( The new 555i will be north of 400 hp for sure )

All that was said was that there's no 5.0L V8, nothing was said about a smaller or larger displacement V8.

I tried to draw the basic shapes of all three lights. First being the G37, second is the alleged M teaser lights and third is the essence lights.
The teaser photos don't even remotely match the essence lights. I know this is premature and we are still not sure if these are the M lights but if so, it doesn't fit what I expect at all. I can't even pic these lights on the essence.

Well I don't recognize these lights so I'm assuming they are the lights on the new M. I'm just dissapointed because they look more G based than essence based which is what I originally meant.

I know exactly where you are coming from. However, I'm glad Infiniti gives each model unique headlights while keeping familial resemblance. Not easy to do. While I too can't picture these lights on this upcoming model, I'm sure they'll look good.

I don't see that happening. Why would they keep around 2 different V8s? Infiniti is transisition over all the V6s to the 3.7L so why would they keep around that old V8 when they have a brand new one.
