I'd like the think a $35k car should out accelerate a $20k one. I'm not spending nearly twice as much for similar performance on premium fuel.

At this point I'm not buying anything. For 2012 a new G37 sedan, Lexus IS and BMW 3-series will come. As pointed out earlier a lease would make sense but I can't afford to lease a car now and it would be a major ripoff for me since I drive ~7500 miles a year.

There are many cars that would outperform our cars with a cheaper price tag. That's not what Inifiniti is all about, raw performance. It is quite fast but it's a better full package. Don't buy this car if you just want to race it

Exactly, lots of cheaper cars out perform much more expensive vehicles. You don't buy a $400,000 Rolls Royce so you can race a $30,000 Mustang.

There isn't a new car sold in the US that can outperform the G37S for less money besides the 370Z. The V8 Camaro SS will out accelerate the G37 while sucking gas but it won't outhandle the G37S. The RX-8 will out handle the G37S but won't even come close to its acceleration and fuel economy.

One of the major selling points for the G37 is its engine. Up until the 2010 model year, if the G37 added DI this wouldn't have changed. But now the base Mustang has an equivalent performing engine. I'm not planning on racing anyone, but for the money I expect the G37 engine to be superior.

Well Jay I'm not trying to be being rude or anything, but if you would rather been seen in a Mustang instead of an Infiniti.. go for it.
