Good call on the paddle shifters, though. I doubt I'll miss them with the 7AT trans. They were nice on the 5AT for that short period of time.

So they fell in the market the M wont' have a need for them. Personally, i don't use them much. I still like the center shifter. One hand on the wheel, the other hand out the window ford the bird!

Interesting, it also says the 5.6L will be 420bhp. Wonder if thats a real number or if they're making things up, since everyone else including Infiniti only said "expected to make more than 400hp".

I was lucky enough to participate in an early focus group last year and got to see full scale models of this car in person. At that time I owned an 07 G35x just so you can understand my opinion...
When I walked into the section of the room that had the cars in it they had this car lined up against the Lexus GS, BMW 5, MB Eclass. Iliterally stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the M. First thought was it was a G on steroids (I love the G lines - they just ooze power and performance).
This car doesn't look bad from any angle (they made us comment from at least 6 different viewpoints around the car). It drips muscle and luxury from everywhere. The other cars just didn't hold candle to this model.
The one thing I can't stand about the older infinitis is the interior... just doesn't stand up to the exterior styling. Having sat in an interior mockup it addressed just about all of my issues. Their attention to detail even went down to the level of the interior door handles. The signature clock is even mother of pearl. It oozes luxury inside.
The V8 will be about 429 hp if they hold true to what they told us on the V8 focus group. They even had a hybrid group so that might be coming down the road.
There will be some really cool tech coming in as options that will rival the new toys on the EClass.
The current japanese car owners all went nuts, the euro car owners were mixed.
I have to say that when they come out with the AWD 56x that I will probably be first in line.

This does not say much considering all of those vehicles(minus the Benz) are going to be redesigned.

Just like I don't understand why the G35xS doesn't get the same suspension setup as the non-AWD G35S.
Oh, and I want more pictures of this thing. Three exterior and one interior pics weren't enough. This car as too many curves and angles to digest.

wow
so wow i just say the reveal of the new M and it looks spectacular. I just purchased a new G37x and i'll be greatly disappointed if the V6 on the M is around the same price range as the G37 since i could've waited a few more months. It probably won't be though right? because it is M!

I hope this isn't the case. :\ Maybe they'll offer non-staggered 20" wheels like Infiniti does with the G37xS and it's non-staggered 18" wheels versus the G37S staggered wheels.
