I am all for being different, but a manual M just doesnt make sense in my mind. It's more of a family car than anything else.....It's like getting a stick S550; a total waste of time and money compared with the S63 or S65.

so the M5 in a true 6MT is a waste of time? You can make a good amount of horsepower out of the VQ motor... let's say 801whp?

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/r...800_680280.htm

the VinnyTenRacing M35 twin turbo already ran 13.0 on a stock block automatic.... too bad he won't go 6mt.

Those higher end cars are faster as automatics! Cars on boost are faster as automatics as well because they don't lose boost like manuals....Take the 997 Turbo for instance; the Manual transmission has a 0-60 of 3.7 while the tiptronic has a 0-60 of 3.4! Isn't that interesting?

but it's back to who wants to mod a stock auto tranny vs a modded manual w/ upgraded parts. if you go automatic and build it as a full drag car, that's a different story than having a streetable car you can drive and be fast

this is what i learned from hanging out at vinnytenracing.com's shop all the time .... 400whp was easy to get ... now 500whp is simple to get... and then tuning up to 801whp is good... o man i miss having a fun fast car.

if the M was offered in a 6MT, i would have gotten it instead of a CTSV even though the V is 10x faster. i love Ms so much but will never own an automatic under any circumstances (except for trucks)
