The Navigation Interface Module is an AWESOME product giving you full Navi functionality with an OEM feel.

No need to drill a hole and mount a switch somewhere in the dash.

On a scale of 1-10 how difficult is this install including the dash removal.

If you get the core charge portion, I'd give it a '3'.

Seriously, it's a very easy thing to do.

Any downsides to getting this mod? Like would I still be able to upgrade the nav firmware version easily without having to remove the hacked unit, etc? And would getting this void the warranty of the nav in any way, shape or form?

This is a 100% hardware modification, so updating firmware won't be an issue.

Whenever you modify a vehicle you void the warranty for the parts you modify. However, the dealership has to prove your modification caused the issue at hand. For example, if you install this module and 3 months later the sound on the navi quits working it would still be covered under the warranty because our module doesn't interface with any portion of the system that is responsible for sound. However, if for some reason your "ENTER" button quits working they would not necesarrily cover it because our module connects directly to the "ENTER" button.

Our modules have current limited inputs and outputs making it virtually impossible for them to damage anything in the car. To date, in ~5 years of selling modules, we have never heard of anyone being denied warranty because they have one of our products installed.

That's a relief. Thx for the quick response. So I wouldn't lose any other functionality whatsoever, right? And so when you turn the car on, the "OK" button with warning simply doesn't appear and we have access to all the grayed out features while driving, right?

I have a question. If the car starts up in CD mode instead of the navigation Ok screen, what would happen? The module would just press Ok in CD mode right? You would still need to manually switch to the Navigation Ok screen.
