what exactly is the functionality of the piece that needs trimming? does this piece allow the factory box to be sealed off allowing maximum pressure/sealed air flow?
the only reason I ask is....it's not like I'm going to lose sleep over actually trimming the piece, it's the fact I want a really good before/after test scenario when I take this car to the track. If I need to establish all the factory runs before installing the jwt, then so beit. I just don't want to install it, trim the piece, then hurt factory performance if I decide to swap back. (I don't really intend any 1/4 racing until this fall.....thats going to be a long, painful wait seeing an unopened jwt box - LOL)

there's a U shaped channel that accepts the inlet of the factory intake. the very top, inside edge of this U shaped channel might need to be trimmed at an angle (effectively trimming off a triangular piece of plastic) down about a quarter of an inch... the factory intakes inlet has a foam gasket that mates with this U shaped channel. do you all really think that a 1/4" triangle is going to diminish factory performance? let's be logical here..
it's so miniscule, it's ridiculous.
honestly, selling an intake because you do not want to do this just seems ludicrous to me.

So.....how fast will these be pushed out? Was there a shortage on heat shields?

UPDATE: The heat shields are not ready to go yet. The materials have not shown up yet for them to do what they need to get the shields done. They informed me that the turn-around once the material is in, will be just a day or so (which is pretty quick). As mentioned before, the intakes themselves are ready and patiently waiting for the heat shields to get completed to be shipped. So as of now, it looks day to day on when these will be ready. I will keep everyone informed as I hear anything new. As far as how many they will be shipping, they will try to knock out 10-20 and ship and so on and so on. I know bad news is always crappy to read/hear and I apologize. Just hang tight everyone, we will get them out as soon as they are ready to go.
