Front plate ticket CHP cussed me out and refused to sign me off

So about a month ago i got a no front plate ticket by the highway patrol. I put the front plate on and went to the office for them to sign it off. An old man followed me to my car and did'nt even bother to look at my front plate. He immediately said "Do you think I'm a f***ing moron?!" I said "excuse me?" he said you think I wouldn't notice your tints if your windows were down? I said No officer that wasn't my intention I have tints on the car, I'll admit it I just bought this car. He got angry and began to raise his voice. He told me he was going to write me up for a tint ticket now and "There is no way in hell I'll sign off your plate ticket, do you know how f***ing dangerous tints are?!, If I sign off your front plate I'm giving you a tint ticket." I told him I just got the car (which I did) and that I simply brought the car in for a front plate and not for tints, so I didn't understand why he's getting angry at me for tints.I said "Is there anything you can do so I can get the front plate signed off today and then I promise I'll take the tints off later on." He got even angrier at this point, he began to cuss at me. He started saying "You think you're hot **** because you have a nice car?" After a few minutes of him pretty much yelling at me I asked for my ticket back and left. I am young (21) but I just got this car and I keep getting hassled because of it. I don't even mind taking the tints off, I just don't appreciate getting yelled at for something this irrelevant. My question is, is he allowed to refuse to sign my plate ticket off if I have tints on it?

Go to another CHP office.
I don't know what part of CA you're in.
I went to the Woodland Hills office, and the Officer didn't step more then 2 ft out of the door, and signed the ticket.
Windows were up with tint!!

I did go to the woodland hills one lol. He also didnt step more than 2 ft but he ended up not signing me off and cussing at me. My windows were down also..so I'm not even sure how he came to the conclusion that I had front tints. He was just an overall rude old man.

How did you get a G at age 21??! It is an expensive car! No wonder he cussed you, he's jealous!

Anyway, get the tint changed soon to avoid any problems, get your front plate later not from this jealous officer.

Mom and dad bought it probably? That's how my friend and I both got ours. We're both 21, but kudos if he bought one all by himself.

My niece went to the Riverside police office on the same day Michael Dorner went on a rampage here. She had no idea of what was happening and just said the office looked like a ghost town. She tracked down an officer who didn't even bother looking at her car and signed it off.

I say just go somewhere else and have them sign it off. Best situation would be to find a friend (or a friend of a friend) that's a cop who would be willing to do it for you.

Civilian clothing? I know who you meant!!
He was arguing with a guy about needing an interlock (breathalyzer) in his car, and getting pissed at him!!
I got a uniformed sergeant!!

Go report him to his watch commander. A peace officer should not be talking to or disrespecting anyone like that for no reason.

Surprising he didn't just sign you off. Usually they're all about getting the money nowadays without actually enforcing, cuz if you get another ticket, that's more money for the state. I got a $25 ticket at a public parking lot in Santa Monica for not having a front license plate. I was purposefully parked in a spot where it'd be hard to see, with the front of the car very close to a wall. The only way the parking enforcement could see it is if they walked to the front of the car and stuck their head between the very small crevice that existed between my front bumper and the wall. This is also a parking lot where you pay on your way out. state of things in california...

1) How could he possibly have known that was going to happen beforehand and 2) cops have a union and don't lose their jobs over stuff like this. They're not like normal people who have service jobs and have to act like it, they're above that.

OP just go to another location and deal with someone else. Park with the plate facing the entrance if possible so that they see the plate when they first walk our and might not notice your windows.

LOL @ California and the stupidity you guys have to up with there just to drive a car. Reason #454479478 not to ever move there.
