It all depends on what you're looking for. OC, for the most part, is pricy because 1. it's relatively safe (or really safe depending on where you are), 2. has pretty decent schools, 3. has good weather, and 4. is pretty central to everything.

Everyone's needs are different, as what I look for in a property is different from what you are looking for, and so on.

How's OC has good weather while LA doesn't? lol unless you are talking about SB then ya it's way too hot.

I'd def take a trip once I've narrowed down a few places to look at. Nothing beats experiencing it first hand. I think I'm going to try to find a place in Irvine/Mission Viejo. If that doesnt work out I'd venture out to Corona/Riverside and possibly Chino Hills. Appreciate all the advice though!

That's great! Keep in mind that it would be about a year before I could actually pack up and move, so thanks for offering to help. What info would you need from me?

If you have a year until you move, like others have said, visit the places you're thinking about.

BTW, definitely check out San Diego (FTW).

Yup. Visit, take a look around, etc. When youre maybe 5-3 months out, let me know.

Keep in mind, sales are up (mostly short sales and foreclosures).

I'll definitely come to actually look. I'd just like to narrow the search down to 2-3 areas and a few homes in each.
