Where to install rear gears and LSD in houston or austin?
I'm purchasing a set of 4.08 gears and quaife LSD plus install kits and need a place to install them in preferably Austin but Houston will work as well. Thanks.

Uprev in Austin said they can do it but want to look at the car to get an idea on the cost. Secret Services Auto in Houston quoted me $600 labor to do it. Motorwerks in houston quoted me $500ish cause they were unsure how long it would take. Texas Auto Gears said $750. Houston Ring and Pinion said $300. Bumbera racing told me they'd rather the dealer install them. Houston Drivetrain said no. Pyle Brothers said no. Inland Truck parts (formerly austin drivetrain) said no.

I'm not familiar with Houston Ring and Pinion, but from their name it sounds like they specialize in this. And the price sounds great.
Wherever you end up getting it done, please post up your experience with the shop and the results.

Will do. I like the price as well but I didn't get an easy feeling on the phone and ring and pinion work is such a finicky thing. My buddy paid $175 for a set done in his camaro and ended up having it lock up on him and it took a year to get the money back from the shop. I'm going to head up to uprev during lunch and see what they say. They sounded really confident. Hopefully it's a decent price.

Well I talked to Paul at Baker Tuning again. Apparently the first guy I talked to didn't know what he was talking about but they can definitely do it. They are gathering the parts for everything and I'm gonna order the LSD (either wavetech or quaife) if it gets here this week I'll have it installed saturday.

We actually discussed your install the other day. Baker Tuning is now a sponsor of our team Strictly G's. Me and a couple of the other team leaders were there discussing things and I brought up your install. Their lead tech was there and I was explaining to them exactly what it is you wanted. He said that they could do it so I asked Paul to make sure to let you know that.
Do you have OEM LSD? If so, why are you replacing it? Malfunctioning? Heavy track use? Just curious.
