Plastichrome/paint window trim in New Orleans, LA

Hello all,
I tried to get an answer to this question in another thread, but I didn’t get any responses. So, I figured I would give it its own thread. I would like to the get chrome (colored) trim around the windows colored/painted black. In the previous thread I posted this question in, the user called it Plastichrome. Does anyone know a good company in the New Orleans area that does this? I have attached a photo (from the previous thread) that shows what I am looking to do. Also, if anyone has any information about the process, durability, how well it matched the car, anything, please let me know. I am one of those people who likes to become an expert in anything I am interested in spending money on. Thanks everybody!

^^ Agree. I had mine at a place that did tint, 3m, and racing stripes. Be careful with the quality vinyl though and don't go to just a tint shop because working wih vinyl is not the same thing.

You can always take off the paint to get the chrome back. But be very careful when you do that. don't want to get it on your car.

you can remove it and paint it, or get it wrapped in vinyl like others said.

Just bring it to a body shop for paint or a tint shop for vinyl.

Be careful with the guys who vinyl the trim because I've seen a lot of vinyl jobs on window trims, and most of them had cuts in the window or door molding from the razor blades.

Thanks for the heads up about the vinyl wrap! I must've misread your original post. And thank you everyone else for the responses.

Can anyone reccommend someone in my area? My tint guy no longer works at the place he did when he did my car, and I can't find him. The guy at that place said they don't do vinyl wrapping, and suggested that I might be able to find aftermarket black trim and get a body shop to change it out.

Any opinions on the aftermarket trim plan? Any reccommendations of where to get any of this done in New Orleans?

Your best bet would be to remove them and get them painted at any local bodyshop. Vinyls are tacky IMO and can be easily damaged. Also painted trim will look much MUCH cleaner than vinyl.

I say get them painted!

everything else is a waste of time...just platidip it...its super easy and you cant screw it up bc if u do it just peels off and leaves no sign that it was ever on your car...safe to be used on paint/glass/chrome anything

The finish on the plastidip is crap. You can't compare plastidipping to a real professional paint job.

Yeah plastidip is great for trying a new look out or small things but even on emblems you can tell the difference very easily when you get up close. I would think doing all of your window chrome you would definitely see a noticeable difference with any car vs a good vinyl or paint job. There is a reason its cheap and has its place but not that much on a nice car. If you aren't sure then wait before you decide until you are comfortable with your choice. Luckily more than likely someone has already done whatever you think of so you can find a pic out there before hand.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the car in the OP looks cheap. I'm not sure if it is the lack of the chrome trim, wheels that look like hub caps, the 4x4 gap or the angle of the pic.
