Buying a G37S in Texas

I originally posted in the Buying & Leasing forum, and realized that I'd be better off asking people locally for help.

I'm looking to buy a G37 sport with premium and nav, but when I talked to the guys at Austin Infiniti, they're not budging more than maybe $500 off MSRP. I am pretty disappointed at that considering all of the good deals that I'm seeing elsewhere. I'm hoping to get something at least a bit closer to invoice than MSRP.

At this point in the season with the 09s on the way soon, I'm hoping to strike a fairly good deal.

Do any of you Texans have any suggestions about dealerships and sales people that were good and could possibly help me?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I got my 6MT with Prem., Nav., and Tech. for over $2000 off MSRP back September of last year. It has to be quite a bith better now. If they absolutely won't deal, move on to another dealership. I bought at Clear Lake Infiniti in Houston and also got maintenance thrown in for free for a year. Excellent service so far. I cringe when I see all the horror stories all over this forum of people having issues with their dealerships. A great experience for me thus far. PM me if you want salesman info or details. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the info. I'm not out to score an invoice deal if I can't get away with it. I mean obviously, I'd like to pay as little as possible, but I am willing to pay over invoice, to some extent.

I am also trading in my 06 TL on this, and so I'm also looking to not get screwed with the trade-in.

I'm sure you've heard it hundreds of times, but sell your old car yourself in a separate transaction. Try CarMax. That is by far the best way. It's very easy to manipulate a deal to look good to the unwary buyer if a trade is involved. If you must trade it in at the dealership, don't tell them you will be trading until you have first negotiated price on the vehicle that you are buying. Lie if you have to. Then negotiate your trade in value separately. Trust me on this.

ya apparently austin infiniti has it's own horror stories, 2yrs ago when i went to acquire info on a g35, they wouldnt give me a time of day due to my youth/race wutever (im guessing) to their ignorance, i was already a self made entrepreneur.
so i dislike them period, maybe go to houston or dallas, grubbs was ok to me when i bought mine in august last year. but that was when the vehicle first came out so didnt budge that much on msrp either. but now im sure u'll get some good deals
go check out blackbetty's dealership, there's first hand recommedation

only 2.5hrs away

austin infiniti can bite me in the butt

Well they came back and slashed off $3k from the MSRP. They gave me a more than fair price on the trade in of my TL, so we'll see what happens. Hopefully the car is indeed being shipped, and we'll see how it goes.

It took them about 20 - 30 minutes to appraise the car and work on financing, but I think once I filled out the paperwork so they knew I was serious, the prices got slashed fairly quickly.

Note: My first post was during the period where I was waiting for the trade-in assessment. All in all, it wasn't bad. They had chocolate and water while I waited :P

I'm smack in the middle of Austin :P I'm going to give Austin Infiniti until Monday to check to see if the car I want is available, and then I will see what my options are at that point.

Hope to be a G37 owner in the near future

I bought mine for $500 over invoice back in January at Sewell. But then again, I'm in the hi-line business so I knew how to get what I wanted. IMO they offer the highest level of service in D/FW. Now I'm 2 cents poorer.

If you end up going out of city for your G37, don't bother with Crest Infiniti in Dallas. Horrible service, I'm mostly guessing because they stereotyped me without letting me even open my mouth. I ended up getting my G37 from Sewell Infiniti because they've done everything right for me. Great guys down there.

When I bought my G37 sport (everything but 4 Wheel steer) back in December from Austin Infiniti I did everything through email. They were really nice, found the car I wanted and they paid to flatbed it from Houston. Price was 2000 off msrp. Got the 3.9% financing and there was a $500 off cash incentive that they also took off. If I remember correctly once they found it and it started moving to Austin I had it in 1 day. The money for the down payment wasn't available (still moving from one account to another) but they let me come in and pick up the car as well as do the trade in without having the paperwork for the trade in (was back at my house and didn't expect to get the car that day). The next day I dropped off my old cars paperwork and the day after the money for the transfer became available.

I had emailed all the surrounding Infiniti dealers (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio) and none of them acted like they wanted my business except for Austin.

I agree here! Avoid Crest. Those guys are thieves. Everything they told me was a lie. He even told me Infiniti won't let me order a car to my specs, and that I HAD to take one from a dealer lot. I went to Sewell, best choice I've made.

This is greatness. That dealership is owned by a company that owns many in D/FW. I won't name them, but you can expect this at every one of their many dealerships. Think "Carmaker of Insert City Here." Lies, lies, and more lies. No ethics whatsoever. They are the reason car dealerships have a bad name. Sewell is exactly the opposite. Thumbs up to them.
