Buying a G37S in Texas
#16
Yeah, I ended up locking in on the deal this past weekend. Sorry for the slow update. I decided to go with the offer they came back at, which was about 800ish or so over invoice. The reason is because they gave me a really good trade-in value on my TL, so I was happy.
Overall, the experience with them was pleasant. They did do everything to make sure that I was satisfied. While the price might not have been the best compared to if I went to other dealers in Texas, the convenience of being able to do it locally in Austin outweighs that.
I'm loving the car so far, and I can't wait to get past break-in.

Even though you locked in your deal, (CONGRATS!!) I wanted to put in a great word for Sewell for any other Texas prospective buyers. These guys make it easy parting with almost $40,000. My deal was about $500 over invoice in April. I have bought many cars in my 50+ years (including a Yukon 6 days after my G37) and I have never experienced the professionalism and customer service I received from Sewell. Ask for Stanley, he will take care of you!

I may be looking to trade in my G35 in November/December timeframe this year (hoping to get a really good end-of-year-deal) but I suspect that since there is only one Infiniti dealership in Austin, you aren't going to be able to negotiate that much. What about Grubbs Infiniti? I've ordered parts from them since they offer a 6mt.net discount, and are great to work with in their parts dept, but what about their sales dept?
I figure that since they are one of the largest volume dealerships in Texas, you would be able to get a better deal? Any thoughts?

Don't go to Grubbs imo.
I won't get into the details of my dealings with them, but the sales guy I had was an arrogant ***** and his manager wasn't very nice either. I order two cars through that dealership and ended up walking away from both because they wouldn't budge off of MSRP at first...I had to argue with the dudes manager to finally get them to come off of MSRP.
I suggest going to Sewell Infiniti in Dallas. I went straight from Grubbs Infiniti the day that jerked me around...walked into Sewell and walked out that night with a brand new G37S with everything I wanted and $1700 under sticker. I bought the car back in November, so unfortunately it was the best deal at the time imo.
You should be able to get a hell of a deal now on a 08 coupe.
