Oh my god. You're killing me.
Here... not my pic, but this is the interior, exactly like this. Not too shabby for a little crossover.

we also have a new vacancy tax to deter foreign buyers from buying and holding houses empty as prices inflate. tons of empty homes sitting meanwhile local, tax paying residents cannot find homes to rent/buy.
example: my folks own a 1920's bungalow, ~2500ft2 on a 33'x120' lot. some renos, but no garage at all. its assessed value from June 2016 is $3.1M at well over $1300/ft2, but market values are typically +15-20% higher, and that number is over a year old anyways. they paid $140k in the late 80's.
a friend of mine just bought an 800 ft2 condo, 1 bed/bath for $950k. he had sold his smaller 550ft2 condo for $650k.
makes no sense, but that's the end result of very loose speculation controls and questionable motivations for the provincial government to bring in stricter regulation. not to mention collusion within the realtor 'brotherhood'. we should've had a system like Sydney Australia a long time ago.
