1996 Ford Crown Victoria: first car, yes it was an interceptor
2002 Buick Regal GS: factory supercharged with grandma suspension and brakes. Zero to terrifying in not too many seconds. I replaced its underpinnings with parts from a police impala. Quite the sleeper.
2006 Toyota Camry V6: Buick was starting to bite the dust and i had just started a new job so I got my mother's old car. Figured it wouldn't be too bad with the V6. The V6 was fast but the 6 speed auto was incompetent to say the least. The car could do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds on paper but took a month to find the correct gear everytime you pushed the pedal. No joke, you'd smash it to beat a yellow light and it would finally downshift and go after you were on the other side of the intersection. Couldn't wait to get rid of it.
2013 Infiniti G37x: hated that stupid boring Camry so much I splurged. Haven't regretted it.

^ how was that '10 335d? those things must have been sleepers. tons of grunt down low i imagine, ~425 lb/ft i recall. they only made them for a few years and now all you can get is the 4-cyl diesel turbo.

Yes, I had a lot of torque. 425 sounds about right. And with the tmap booster (only mod), I was easily over 450.
I went to the D because I've always wanted to try out a diesel; just seemed kind of cool and hipster. And coming from a lightly tuned 335i, I was getting like 18mpg. I think my final average was 17.6 (I thought that was bad until the G37). I ended up getting around 22.5MPG in the D, which was a drastic improvement. So that was cool.
But I did get stranded once because I couldn't find a diesel pump after searching 3 exits. Got stuck in the ghetto of Crenshaw on the way to pick up my mom from the airport. Was not fun. But the ghetto diner I went to was pretty legit.
Alright, to the ride now. So I the biggest reason I went with the D was for the raw power. I wanted to experience having that much power. Going in a straight line was cool. You feel a massive force pulling your car forward. But for having all that torque, there was not that much speed. The car just felt like it pulled. I think the best way to describe the ride is it feels like you're driving a truck in car form.
One time I got walked by a IS350. Thoroughly disappointed in the car after that day. Seriously, **** that car.
And maybe due to me being a poor driver, I never felt very confident taking corners hard with this car. It was really easy to give it too much power. 335i was a lot easier to drive in comparison. But this could just be my poor driving skills.
