With track days on the horizon, I just ordered some brake ducts to keep them cool. We will see how much custom work I have to do to make them fit since they are designed for the 370Z...

Have you thought about wrapping it with the Carbon fiber fabric? It's woven just like it and has a satin-ish finish. I have it and want to use it but haven't had the ***** to get the proper adhesive and give it a try.

An example

I got the same fabric off eBay and it was reasonably priced. I'm on the fence about putting it mine only because I already have a black interior, but the silver on our doors looks cheap to me

Do you have any more pics of the carbon fiber fabric? I went to the PYSpeed.com website you have in the picture, but I could not find the product. Where do you get it?

Hmmm.... posts from 7 years ago. I wonder what was wrong with it since it is not still around.

It's funny to me that those posts are from BMW forums because when I saw the pic r2dmax posted I immediately thought of the carbon trim in the last generation M3.

I actually didn't order mine from them. I believe you can still buy the fabric on eBay. I'll go and dig mine out and post a pic (as soon as I remember). But I think it's a nice look and option. Like I said, my nerves about doing it wrong has made me wait. I originally bought it for my Audi.. smh

Awesome! Thanks man. I think it is going to look pretty cool once I see those pics. I will check into this with my vinyl guy too to see if he is familiar with it. I don't blame you for waiting to do it. I would never have the patience or skill to make it look right if I tried to wrap it.

I was looking more into this and it seems it's just not really a thing anymore since it's not easily removable, and now that 3M has their 1080 Carbon Vinyl.

I can't tell if this stuff is real carbon though? Is it? I think no, since without any resin overtop it would just unweave over time and be a disaster.

btw, if you want another example of a wrap job here is one i just did on my "new" s2000. (This is 3M 1080 CF Vinyl)

Hi,

The car looks great. I am trying to figure out how to post rims/tires that I am trying to sell. Do you know how to do that?

Thanks,

Thanks for looking into this. I would imagine it is not real carbon fiber. The S2000 looks pretty good. However, that wrap looks eerily similar to what I had on my Evo. It looked good from a distance, but was pretty obviously fake up close. Do you notice the same thing?

Thanks,
Thanks! Your post is funny to us because this is a strange place to ask. But let me help you. Scroll down to the "Private Classifieds" section and click on the tab for "Wheels & Tires." That is where you want to post up. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah, I don't care about it being removable. I think it makes the interior look a little higher end when done right so I plan to leave it. I'm decent with interior VINYL wrapping, fabric is a different thing...

I am glad you are good at vinyl wrapping. I just don't have the patience or skill for that. My problem is that I am such a damn perfectionist that if I screwed up some tiny detail I would see it every day. This is actually the whole reason I am thinking of wrapping the silver trim- I had a tiny mark and thought it was actual brushed aluminum and that I could sand it out with ultra fine sand paper- only to find it is a coating that comes off that gives it the finish. Now I have a big mark. Oops!
