2013 Journey Exhaust Help

So, I finally bought the infiniti that I've wanted for a while now.. only issue is: I think its too quiet. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be that jerk that has a ridiculously loud car. So I tried looking into a few options, and being fairly new to modding, have been thoroughly confused and stuck.

I thought something from cherry bomb would be a good idea, as they sounded amazing on my grandfather's camaro, but I've heard negative things about them on an infiniti. I do enjoy the deep grumble when idling so much, but I'm not sure I'd get the same thing with my 2013 Journey. All that being said, can anyone give a pretty good recommendation as to what systems I should be looking at? I don't want to spend any more than about $600..

$600 dollar limits you to axle-back systems.

Actually amazon has J2 engineering y-back exhaust for around your budget.

With that price point your only options are off brand parts with questionable quality and fitment or a brand name axle back exhaust.

Most cat-back exhaust systems are going to run you $900+.

Invidia q300 is another cheap alternative but costs almost $1k

For the price seems a lot of people like it. I have it and for the price think it sounds great.

Any chance I can get some audio from you? lol

Would JUST replacing the mufflers be a bad idea? I don't fully understand how exhaust systems work.. sadly.

Unless you are replacing the entire exhausts with race or high flow cats, headers, etc, the power gains are minimal. If you are looking purely for more sound, why not try the muffler delete option first? The mufflers are not welded on. They are clamped. It will look like crap when you are driving it but you can get an idea of the volume and sound when they are just off. Then, if you like the sound, take the mufflers to an exhaust shop, chop the tips, have them slap some 2.5" piping to replace the mufflers and call it a day. OEM look, more aggressive sound, less weight and all for less than $200.

OP, one consideration is to keep the OEM cans, but have a shop cut out the resonators and replace them with straight pipes or smaller aftrmarket resonators.

Another option is to leave your entire cat back alone, and replace your cats.

Other than those two approaches, $600 isn't going to allow for much, except an axle back.

I'd say try to find something used and preferably local. You may have to wait a bit and do some searching but something may show up... I wasn't even considering an exhaust just yet, but I found an insane deal basically out of nowhere and picked up a used stillen cat back for 400$ and I couldn't be happier. Modding on a budget takes time but you can save some serious money GL

Buy some nice tips from Ebay and have your muffler removed and run straight pipes from the axle back with your new tips.

Under $150 and will sound/look amazing

HEY That's my car in this picture. (It really is) all good. Yeah I looked all over the place trying to find an exhaust that I liked. I wanted more sound. I was willing to spend about the same $600.00 to. I'm so glad I didn't. I took my car to a local muffler shop and he charged me $90.00 total for my muffler delete and he put the oem tips back on.Best thing I ever did. Here's the video of what my car sounds like. My car has had different rims on it since I posted this video.

If you're looking to increase performance and sound HFC's/TestPipes is going to be your best bet. For $600 you can do an axleback but it's going to be minimal in terms of sound and performance. A really nice set of HFCs will be the best bang for your buck in terms of HP/TQ and sound. Go get a pair of Motordyne ART Pipes, you won't be dissapointed.
