Test pipes make more power. sounds aggressively loud but does have a smell to it when your stop.

HFC makes power too but not as much as test pipes but i think almost as much. sounds loud too but not as loud.

I personally would go with HFC cause test pipes probably wont pass emission test if you have those. i know i dont but i still would go with HFC.

if you want to see a review and sound on test pipes. here is sam thread
https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...ml#post2561180

give tony at fast intention a call. he can help you way better too and he sells both

I don't have to worry about emissions test over here thats why I went for test pipes, If you like it loud go for test pipes.. Not sure you could tell much of a performance difference between TP's & HFC's..

Smell isn't bad, I'm getting used to it and loving it in fact haha

I hate to sound like a tree hugger but honestly I think test pipes are irresponsible. That smell coming from your exhaust is carbon monoxide. The same stuff that puts a hole in our ozone and melts the polar ice caps. Your free to do what you want, im not a preacher but there are consequences of our actions, either now or down the road.

BERK Test pipes: Guaranteed to get that annoying CEL light on your dash. Unpleasant exhaust smell. Raspy exhaust sound. But they do make a tiny bit more power and are less expensive.

BERK HFC's: Does not throw the CEL light except in some rare cases. No unpleasant exhaust smell. Cuts down rasp by about 80%, aka sounds much better! SMOG legal in most states. Makes just about the same amount of power as test pipes. Better for the environment which we should give some thought to!

We are the leading manufacturer for HFC's for the G37, G35, 370Z, and 350Z! Pick up a set of BERK HFC's and you won't be disapointed. We've got dealers all over the USA and a few international dealers as well.

well everyone pretty much summed it up.
testpipes: littlel more power, more raspy, louder, smell.
hfc: still makes good power, less raspy, little louder than stock, either no or not as bad of a smell.

i got Berk HFC on mine...very happy with them. still on stock exhaust though but made it sound more aggressive (little raspy...but thats prob cause its still stock exhaust)

I have test pipes and I regret buying and paying to install them. If I were to start over I would have went for the intake or muffler first. If you want to do something about your cats I would go resonated, but I heard people have issues of the resonation chamber causing rattling after some use, or more likely HFC. To be honest I have not noticed any power change with Test pipes in. I have Berk test pipes and the rasp and smell is not worth it. I can't comfortably sit in my car at idle because the smell drives me insane. Driving; however, I don't even notice the smell.

Yes this is an old thread but you have me wondering, you seriously don't feel ANY difference from the test pipes? They have been known to open up almost 20whp alone... Your butt dyno needs some, uh, lube?
