Found this overseas: F38E0-1NF5D.

It is listed for $160. at amayama. Shipping should not be outrageous. This is NEW, OEM, pre-painted in your KAD color.

Just pointing out this option. Obviously, verify these are the ones you want BEFORE you buy.

I can say Amayama is legit as well. Ordered several items from them. Most recently got the revised sunroof wind deflector from them for $70, retails over $300 at Infiniti dealers.

There’s an OEM sunroof wind deflector for our cars?

Thanks all, I have sent an inquiry to Amayama to see what the shipping cost will be. Fingers crossed it will be reasonable!

Shipping won't be that bad. My last order was for 3 pulleys, belt, belt tensioner, and front bumper brackets. Shipping was $37 via DHL Express (3.25kg weight) and arrived in 4 days (weekend delay).

Keep in mind that amayama typically will overestimate the shipping costs until they get the actual part(s) in their warehouse. They almost always immediately refund the difference.

Also, I would recommend shipping via one of the big 3 shippers and avoid EMS Japan Post. EMS is good, but once they hand it off to USPS... Then you're in "No Man's Land."

Good luck!

Received the following responses:

This order was cancelled with the status "Delivery term unknown".
The suppliers will not accept order with this status as there is no schedule to produce that the part number again. Once the manufacturer schedules another production run, they will start accepting orders again. It's not possible to estimate when that will happen as production depends solely on fluctuating demand.

Well, hell. Never came across that one before. So, now you know that they are definitely NLA.

Sorry, man. I tried. No harm no foul.

@ILM-NC G37S - how does the payment method work with Amayama? I tried ordering a positive battery terminal from them, and went through the checkout process, but at the end it said someone will contact me regarding a payment method. I waited a few days, no contact (may have been during the Obon holiday?) so I went on Ebay and bought one from a legit seller for a similar price and that will ship to me in September (my guess is that this buyer is reselling from guys like Amayama, hence the long wait).

To get the part within two weeks from US sellers, it cost 2.5x as much, and its not a critical item worth $50-60. I looked for aftermarket, but I only found cheap looking rubber versions. There is a huge power wire branching out of the left side of mine, so the OEM one needs to be cut for the wire to pass, but over time, that cut sacrificed the integrity of the unit and it eventually split in two (below).

Typically, once you submit the order, the team there will verify with Nissan if the parts are indeed available. This process usually takes 24-48 hours, however, with weekends, time difference, and the numerous holidays Japan observes, this can take slightly longer.

One "wrench" that can gum up the works, sometimes whoever is reviewing the order will "balk" if you provide a USDM VIN stating "they can't verify compatibility." I use a JDM Chassis Code ("VIN") to get around that but that is just me.

Once the order is verified they will send you a Paypal invoice at which time you can complete the order or cancel. After payment the order is confirmed and from there it takes roughly one (1) week before the parts are ready to ship.

As stated above, they intend to over-estimate shipping charges and once the parts are ready to go they will promptly refund the difference, if any.

There has been only one occasion where a extended period of time ensued between order and payment. I emailed them and they responded swiftly. I wrote it off as "they forgot."

Amayama is best for getting rare and/or non-time critical parts. For some things, like the vent control valve I just bought, where I "needed it now," you just have to bite the bullet and buy domestically.

Case in point: https://gogonihon.com/en/blog/mountain-day-in-japan/

My colleagues in Japan even goof on some of their holidays.

I guess they are no worse than the Europeans who get 8 weeks of vacation per year and take every Thurs-Fri off May-July then disappear the entire month in August. They feel bad for us that we only get 3-4 weeks vacation, if that.

Thanks for the detailed explanation of the process. Pretty sure I caught them on a holiday.

Also, there was an OEM Sunroof wind deflector mentioned above. I have never heard of such an animal.
OR, is this the part the thread is referencing: https://parts.infinitiofcolumbus.com...cvb_make_model

If an external one, maybe it was made as an accessory for the V36 Skyline and it fits our cars for obvious reasons? I'm not a huge fan of those external deflectors (hell, I barely open the sunroof), but I am a sucker for OEM accessories.

Yes, it is the little "bar" that pops up when the roof opens. On the G37 it is a solid bar, on the "newer" Q's it is notched to reduce the wind noise and allow the air to flow more freely.

This thread has pics to show what it is. For me, as my roof is open more than it is closed, it made a world of difference.

There was/is a external deflector for the Q50 which I am sure would work on the G37. Personally I hate those things. Had one on my Accord Coupe back in the 90's... never again- for either.

I agree. Those things look so IROC Z. Definitely leftover from the 90s. Speaking of the 90s, how about an "Illuminated Ash Cup": https://www.infinitiwholesaledirect....cup-f88008992d

Yet another accessory I wasn't aware existed. Shame that almost all of these accessories are discontinued.
