I've never driven a stock G but I've had many pass by me on the road. In my opinion, the IPL exhaust is perfect if you want something not too loud but still enjoyable to listen to. It's deeper and louder than stock but not as loud as a full catback system will give you.

Heads up for anyone going from stock:
The volume increase is barely noticeable. It's definitely a bit deeper and just sliiiightly louder, but probably not enough to make a difference.
I just switched to IPL from stock g37s and wish it was a tad bit louder.

That's the thing, I don't want loud at all. I just want a subtle rumble, no drone or obnoxiousness.
Had a resonated GHL exhaust on the previous car and it had a beautiful note (although attached to a forced 4).
Going to keep an eye on the infiniti sport axleback.. I hear those sound pretty good / close to stock, but the dealer $$ is a bit much.
