This was partially installed in my car for a short period but was never actually used, so everything isn't exactly as it came out of the box but all is still in perfect working order.

Not sure about the newer models but adding remote start usually involves cannibalizing one of your key fobs and embedding it in as part of the alarm. I hadn't planned on using the remote start portion of the alarm in my car though.
