Little work on the Nismo diff cover

Had some free time today and decided to clean up the nismo diff cover a bit before installing it along with the diff bushings. The oem cover was in pretty rough shape, tons of casting flash and little imperfections. After polishing the cover a lot of the imperfections are removed, however it's not perfect. Definitely looks nicer though

Did you weld a bung for an oil temp sensor?

^^^What he said.^^^

It looks great but if you don't tell us how you did it, you're just showing off and not helping.

Process used for polishing cover
- Use a die grinder/air sander with abrasive an abrasive disc (either 36 or 50 grit will work fine) as aluminum is on the softer side for metals.
- Clean up all the imperfections that are left from the casting mold
- Hook up a wire wheel and detail all the cracks and crevices to remove some of the oxidized metal on the surface
- Now go back to the air sander and use a scotchbrite (Fine grade) sanding disc. This will eliminate and blend in all the sanding marks from using the previous heavier grit discs.
- Now use this process with multiple size discs ranging from 3" for easy to reach areas and down to 1" for hard to reach areas.
- After you feel that you've cleaned up and blended the imperfections to your liking proceed to polishing.
- U can pretty much polish this whole cover with 3 wheels. ( You can see the wheels I used in the picture, the ones that are black from the polish residue)
- You can use whatever polish you want. I use Adams detail products for maintain my DD G coupe. So I use the #1 first and then proceed to #2 to give it a little extra bling.

Hope this helps whoever would like to do this to there cover, total time including lunch break was 4 1/2 hrs.
