I would like to get some coil overs for her but I can't afford anything just yet.



If I do buy coil overs, I'm wondering how much everyday drivability will be sacrificed.

If you are on a budget springs would work fine. G37X sits crazy high compared to other models.

Coilover choices for the X are pretty scarce, Megan LPs and BCs are available but I think that's about it. My Megan LPs have been quite a bit better than my lowering springs but mine is RWD. Swift springs seem to get solid reviews on X Sedans but hard to confirm part #s and fitment since there's only a couple known X coupes rockin Swifts on this site
There is Tanabe and Eibach as well, w/ Eibachs being the most common.
BTW, those wheels look nice on your X!

Thanks man! I wanted to do something a little different. I don't think there are many g37 drivers with F14's on and if so, at least machined in matte black. The only one I've seen is a g35 which is advertised somewhere online, which actually inspired me to do the exact same thing. I've always loved Forgestar wheels, and now after months of saving I finally have some!

at first, i didn't know i ordered the wrong bc coils. i had the extreme low springs and the highest setting i was like 2 inches off the ground and i live in NYC which is full of bumps and pot holes and i had low profile tires.
pros
stopped speeding
more aware of the road
drove slow very often

cons
felt every bump(like fly off my seat bumps also)
had to avoid a lot of streets
had the fear of going a lot of places

i fixed the problem by ordering the stock BC springs and i was less scared
IMO don't go too low
