plastidip with a twist

Was bored with the look of my wheels and frankly they no longer flowed well with the car. So a few months ago I plastidipped the face and it looked decent with the matte black finish. Decided to go with a graphite finish this time around. I used two coats of plastidip, two coats of the graphite finish and 3 coats of clear. Let me know what u think.

Wow, I would never have known it was plasti dipped. It looks good soolman. So for this wheel style (with lip) if you ever had to get tires mounted there is no issue with contact with the rim face/plastidip side as one would face with a stock wheel.

Thanks bro! Yeah you definitely should not have to worry about it. If anything you could just ask whoever is mounting your new tire to be treat them carefully but I was holding on to the face when I was mounting my wheels back on and it worked just fine.

Thanks! Plastidip as a base coat works really well. No sanding required. Just wipe down and spray.

wow! great idea man. What kind of paint for the graphite color?

Let us know how well the paint will hold. I'd like to do this to my OEM wheels.

I appreciate that. I used Dupli-color graphite and Dupli-color clearcoat. I ll definitely report back on how well it holds up. For reference, one coat of plasti dip lasted 4 months before it started peeling.

Here's a close up for those who were asking.

It s definitely very versatile. And when you consider the whole thing ran me a lil over $30, you can't help but love Plastidip
