Iphone 4 in my car

Got a new Iphone 4 last week. After playing with the GPS and realizing how much better it is than my previous 3g and my Garmin, decided to replace the Garmin with it. Used a mix of my old mount for my Garmin, an universal mount from Arkon (so i can fit my case), Apple composite cable for audio and video to the G37 screen, and an AC/DC converter for power. End product is one cable for audio/video/power to my Iphone 4.

Old garmin:

Old garmin:

Garmin removed:

Ball socket matched mount Arkon perfectly:

Apple Composite Cable:

Walmart ac/dc power adapter

Pretty good video quality:

Sure. First thing I would check is the connection to the Iphone. I noticed with my bumper case on, the connection wasn't very secure. So first, remove any cases you have and connect the wire to a naked iphone.

Next, make sure you have your iphone setup to output video. On your iphone go to settings, and under tv out, set widescreen to on and tv signal to NTSC

Finally, make sure you have your parking brake on. Also keep in mind it can only output video from the ipod app, youtube, photos, and netflix whenever that's released.

Also, hit the aux button a couple of times on your G37 console to make sure it's setup to receive the video feed. Sometimes its still locked out due to previous parking brake memory being engaged in the car's computer.

2008 G37 Coupe Base. No options at all except tinted windows and wheel locks. BB's grounding kit, GT spec strut bar, and Hotchkis sway bars.

I don't think 2010 can play video from an ipod or iphone, They only have a USB connection.

2010 G37 have the AV IN ports and it have a USB port too.
This is on the EU version. I dont know about US versions...
They can play video from a USB memory stick.

@ cdebnil

Instead that 12v to 110v (black inverter) then 110v to 5v (iphone charger) from your picture, you can use a 12V to 5V converter (aka car USB adapter) like this:

Or you can plug in the iphone USB cable connector into USB port on the 12v-110v inverter. In the picture it show's that it have an USB conector too.

Is much safer for your iphone and save some space.

The inverter you use can resonate with the iphone charger because they are both swiching power supply and that can end bad for your iphone.

The inverter I have has a usb port but for some reason it wasn't working with my iphone 4. It does work with my iphone 3g though. Don't know why since I thought they had the same power requirements.
